I love the rad little ninja kick Hawke does at 1:59 in the combat video to deliver a Maismic Flask.

Also, I've watched that vid like 20 times haha

I'm glad to see somebody other then me likes it.

I'm tired of whiney nerdragers complaining about something so trivial.

I knew I was gonna play a rogue from the start why because rogues are quick and stealthy and they're badass

Rogue most likely.

So, any one else wondering if that dead space 2 heavy armor is going to cause stamina penalty?

what do u mean?

There was a fatigue percentage with armor in da 1

heavy armor vs light armor:
http://dragonage.wik...iki/Light_armor

vs

http://dragonage.wik...iki/Heavy_Armor

which caused a fatigue penalty:
http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Fatigue<_<

Thus, dead space 2 armor has heavy armor written on the description of the chest piece.  So i was curious as to if the devs had stated if there would be a similar effect with stamina and fatigue in da 2.

Dead space armor looks cool, but the Assassin's creed look is kinda hard to pass up.

Probably will make my decision based on fatigue effect.

I usually play Warrior but both Fenris and Aveline are looking too good, I think they'll be in my party a lot.. so I might have to change to Rogue just to balance it a bit.. :(

Either a warrior or mage. Teleporting assassins with butter knives don't interest me.

I'm really torn between playing a Mage or a Rogue first. Fortunately, since the demo is coming out, I can try both before I actually get the game. :D

Like peas in a pod, you and I - I love mage and rogue and absolutely can't decide either. It's going to be tough lol

I played warrior in WoW for way too long so the joy/attraction is just not there.

Heh. I just find warriors really boring to play most of the time. I used to play them a lot, but after a while it just got stale. And in DAO you got so many Warriors on your team that if you played as one you were more-or-less reduced to a standard party of Leliana/Zevran,  Wynne/Morrigan and another, particularly on higher difficulties. And Zev's lateness coupled with his lack of lockpicking talents made it awkward to use him at times for utility-purposes. Running a Rogue or Mage in Origins meant you could mix-up your party a bit more. The Warrior's lack of utility and interesting tactical abilities (stealth, for example), made them a less rewarding player experience (IMO).

Granted, they seem to have spiced up Warrior (and Rogue) a fair amount, which might make the former less boring (and the latter more awesome). Also, from what we can tell, the amount of party-members of each class is more balanced this time, albeit with a slight abundance of awesome rogues (with the DLC character). The 4 Rogue party is no longer a dream. ;)

Yeeeaahhaaar, a 4 rogue party sounds incredibly fun, espcially if everyone can stealth about and then KaPoWW! lol

But after seeing those new screenies at Gamespot, I think I am going to have to play a Mage first - that power looks impossible to resist :wizard:

I'll probably do a warrior for my first playthrough, but my second one is sure to be a rogue.

Second playthrough... Depends on what NPC's I like and what npc's I don't like... If there is a rogue I don't like I don't use him or her in the party... I just play a rogue then... If it's a mage I don't like as NPC I'll play a mage! :)

I love Rogues...That's why I made a group and all.
But anyway, when DA 2 is released I probably start 3 playthroughs at the time. All acting different.
My Rogue will be the Charmer (neutral/good)
My Mage will be Agressive (neutral/evil or pure evil, haven't decided yet)
My Warrior will be a Diplomat (Such a goody goody that the light shines out of her arse)

But I probably play my Rogue ahead, so I know which choices I can make.

But Warriors always the main hero people wil least expect a Rogue or Mage as the main character and hero, unless you think about Robin Hood

I know, I will probably roleplay my Male Hawke rogue as a charming Rogue (ala Robin Hood) in my first playthrough.
Or something like 'The Highwayman' the hero in R.A Salvatore's book 'The Highwayman'.

I personally like the sarcastic, charming Rogue hero's a lot more then the knight in shining armour type. But still, I'm starting 3 playthroughs at the same time, so I can do all three of them ;)

EDIT: The third one being an evil mage. Which is one of the biggest cliché antagonists in fantasy but whatever.

Rogue, unless things have changed from DA:O to DA:2, I was never able to stay with warriors or mages, I've played them through complete games but I always return to rogue, I just hope the archery is better!

Duncan was 90 % a rogue, imo. And as far as im concerned, Duncan might just be the coolest guy that has ever lived, so yes, rogue for me.

The Charming Swashbuckling Rogue is always what I play first in any game and DA2 is no Exception.

Though I'll admit I'm somewhat upset to find out I might be stuck with dual daggers in this game and might not be able to go sword/dagger. How can you be a proper swashbuckler without a sword? I'm going to walk over to Bioware and smack someone in the forehead if that turns out to be true.

It's certainly something refreshing. I hate it when games portray rogue-like characters with a slow "stand and stab" playstyle. Rogues are supposed to strike quickly and play dirty.

It has been said many times, but have you seen the "daggers" in Dragon Age? They are light blades at the worst, but certainly not what most people would think about when they think about atypical daggers (ala army knives or shorter). It is just the name that they chose for the weapon class to perhaps make it more simple.

But yeah if you were hoping for a single sword fighting style you're pretty much out of luck.

I never said anything about single sword. But I could use dual swords in Origins. (Or axes or maces) Isabela used sword/dagger there, so odd she'd downgrade. Just loses the whole swashbuckler feel without at sword in at least one of your hands. Fadeshear had nearly the perfect visual for a nice piratey blade too.

The Origin "daggers" *fingerquotes* were more like gladiuses. They failed as both daggers and swords. Regardless, It feels like a step backwards in DA2 if they're limiting weapons so severely.

(Note I said 'if' since its all hearsay at this point. I'd love to find I've been completely misled and worried for no reason.) Image IPB
