Alot of things from dead space should be implemented in (the much better game) mass effect.

Such as....

1.Zero G navigation
2. Collapsible Helmets
3. Biotic ability that lets you move objects like Kinesis in dead space (hl2 gravity gun)

Why a gun when you have biotics?

We already have cool helmets.

A Zero-G thing might be cool, but it'd be an obvious Dead Space ripoff.

i dont mean an actual gun, i mean a game mechanic where you can move objects freely like in dead space and half-life 2. such a mechanic is often called a "physics gun". i think it originated with g-mod.

We have mass effect fields. Come on... we're on the cool side of the universe not them.

That's a dangerous thing that you're suggesting my friend. The gravity gun is one of the emblems of half-life if bioware puts that weapon in ME3 in less of a second everyone will shout saying that they took that from HL.

1. Agree

2. Definately agree

3. If Biotics could be implemented the same way Kinesis is used in DS2, hell yes.

1.

Dead Space isn't the only game that's ever had zero-g and zero-g combat, just look at Crysis, it had them. I believe a first person shooter called Prey also had them.

2.

Collapsible Helmets is something people were asking for right from ME2's launch so that Shepard would stop splashing drinks against his helmet and other such silly looking moments.

I'm for this.

3.

The idea of it being a "gun" is silly. We have Biotics, it would sensibly be a Biotic ability.

Make it a Biotic ability restricted to Adepts (maybe in me2 every class gets 2 unique abilities now instead of just one, so other classes would get an additional unique ability as well), since they'd seem the obvious choice. It'd certainly cement their place as masters of biotics.

Essentially it would be a biotic ability that let's that lift, move and throw objects that can be upgraded to lift heavier objects and throw them and higher forces. The split in the end would allow for either multiple objects (using the weight limit of the last tier) lifted and thrown or a single super heavy object lifted and thrown.

Not that ME3 needs this, I'm just commenting on the base idea. I'd be for it if Bioware wanted to do it.

I'm more interested in additional forms of movement, truly 3D movement in truly 3D environments to up the tactical choices of you and enemies. The Vanguard getting Charge is a step forward in this range of thinking. Each class could get something in this regard.

Engineer: Could get a collapsible levitating tech-pad like Saren's from ME1.

Soldier: Could get a booster pack that would let them jump a certain distance.

Adept: Could get short term biotic powered levitation/flight as in Samara's cutscene.

Infiltrator: Could get a quick teleport behind an enemy for a deadly shock attack that ports them back to their original position instantly after the strike is landed.

Sentinel: Could have an after imagine ability, that leaves behind a tech armor version of themselves, using a reverse biotic charge to move them backward - away from the enemy - the afterimage exploding after a time.

Each with their own limitations such as cooldowns and durations of course. Of course enemies would get stuff like that too, so you'd have to work with your advantages against theirs. Not likely to happen at all though, just fun to think about.

As Bioware will probably keep the ME2 skill progression chart ( Despite it being crap ), it's goinf to need a set of level 5 boxes.

A gravity gun effect could be the level 5 of pull or throw.

Love the helmet idea, would be very cool walking into combat with Shepards helmet or visor just transforming into place.

1. Is cool, but also redundant as the boots are magnetized.

2. Makes me cringe. It's one more nail into the unexplained-magic-coffin. And how such devices even work.

3. See #2.

DS2 gameplay mechanics are completely different from ME2 ones, it just wouldnt work.

Of course the helmets thing should be addressed.

zero G would be cool for ME, the rest is good the way it is, ME already have lots of helments, they should put a way to hide them coz I like to see my sheps face.

Bioware should do a lot of things

But unfortunately they seem content to cut corners

I sound like such an ass. Prove me wrong. Mass Effect 2 just feels incomplete somehow

LOL. This bothers me too, but I doubt they'll change that. A mute explosion isn't as fantastic as a loud one.

Helmets, yes, if you're referring to the ability to basically toggle your helmet on and off.

Zero G? Meh, I guess maybe if you had to run along the hull of the Normandy to fix something critical on the outside, or something, but I don't think Zero G action is necessary.

Biotics/ TK powers? No. Not the way they're presented in Dead Space. IF you're playing as a biotic, you should be able to do biotic things in cutscenes like throw tables at people. During regular gameplay? Eh. No thanks.

So a zero-G section would make no sense a any other SciFi game...
And like others said, the ability to move physical objects with biotics, instead of a gun, would also be a good addition and add some variety.

They should simply do helmets like they do in Dragon Age: they get taken off during cutscenes so you can see Shepard's face. I loved the DLC Blood Dragon armor, but I simply could not use it because the non-removable helmet blocked Shepard's expressions.

Anti-Gravity and Telekinesis are mainly used in Deadspace as puzzle creation tools. And having puzzles that are not "Towers of Hanoi" is pretty cool.

ME3 could use a little bit more in the puzzle department to break up the action a little.
