I decided to download from Steam and now they are pre-loading on Nov 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Steam for example it could mean an extra day or two. Steam always slows down during big releases at least in Europe. I often end up downloading at 10-30kb/s with my 24Mbit connection. Outside of rush hours and big releases I often get full download speeds even from Steam. Same problem with most popular digital stores.

Plus downloading 8GB (or in case of Steam, possibly up to 16GB?) does take more than few hours with most connections even if people were able to download at maximum speeds.

No, Paladin, it seems everyone who chose free shipping got 2nd day air. We who chose expedited get overnight, which seems to be delivering Monday, while you likely get it Tuesday.
Waste of shipping money imo. If I wasn't so lazy I might even complain about it to EA.

But I imagine part of me would spend 15 bucks to get it a day earlier anyways, so meh.

I was told by one of the EA reps that its being shipped via UPS.

I ordered my CE version on October 27th from the EA store.  Yesterday I received an email from EA with UPS tracking number.  This morning UPS finally changed from the "Received Billing Info" or whatever it was to "In Transit - On Time".  It's scheduled to arrive at my house on Monday!

Yeah, same here.  That typically means that UPS has picked it up, but it hasn't gotten anywhere in their systems yet.  Now, that doesn't mean it's not on its way, it just means that they're slow to update their systems.

I figured that was the case.  I don't think they update their systems on a weekend at least thats what i can recall from tracking various of items that shipped via UPS.
