I'll wait and read threads to see if similar issues come up with the DA 2 launch

Just a though for thoes of you who have collected alot of the promotional DLC from various sources over the past few months as well as the pre-order/signature stuff. Will any of you play the game with out it installed in your first play through. Then install it for your second playthrough? I myself and pondering whether to do so, just so I can see the difference the game would be when not using all the bonus content.
The same experience can be had by not choosing to do the content and selling/destroying the items we get at the beginning. As for me I don't see why not. When I got to know Shale on my first play-through it added a decent amount to the experience.

For DA:O I made sure to get as much DLC as possible before even starting the game. Shale, Warden's Keep, rings, stuff. Especially Shale was a definite must-have for me, much like Sebastian is with DA2 (my main reason to pre-order the SE) - it makes my first play-through as complete as it can get. That's how I like it.

No sense in getting DLC and then not play it neh?

I agree. Also made sure to have as much DLC as possible for my first DAO playthrough.
Allthough it seems that DA2 has more DLC items than DAO. Just by pre-ordering the Sig.Edition you get about 6 items + Black emporium and The Exiled Prince. Then you can get Hindsight and Staff of Parlathan by signing up for stuff. Then if you play Dragon Age Legends you can unlock 3 new items for DA2 and if you play the demo you unlock a new weapon for DA2.
Still, all of these DLC items are either weapons, shields, belts or amulets/rings. Not a single one is armour (except for the Dead Space 2 armour thingy) so they can all be equiped on your companions as well. This is a good thing since otherwise you would be carrying a bag full of DLC equipment that you can't use or don't need and thats just sad.

I'll definitely be installing Sebastian and the Black Emporium though.

The rest of the stuff will be utilised from the outset.

I look at it this way. I'm going through a lot of effort to try and get every bit of DLC available. Hell yeah I'm going to use it every chance I get. Why bother to try and get it all if only to say "nah, not worth it this time".
Are you like buying the game form diffrent shops just to get the DLC?

*The Exiled Prince may be a good companion or at least it will provide more story and more quests which leads to more experience points and chance to reach higher level;
*The Black Emporium may have some interesting items which may be good for my Hawke or my companions. I'll buy some good items for the latter if there're enough money left once I've equiped my Hawke to my likings; Also, the Mabagi Hound may me useful too; and the mirror of transformation? I'll see about that
*DLC Items? First of all, it seems I won't be receiving Sword & Shield because GAME.co.uk refuses to issue them to those who buy DA2 Signature Edtion; then, my credit card was extended one week ago so I need to make sure that there's no problem with new CVV code (security code) in my pre-order of DA2 SE at GAME; of course, I already have the Hindsight and Staff of Parlathan (pardon me if I've mispelled the names); I'm sure I won't bother getting Dragon Age Legends unlocks as fast as possible OR even delaying my DA2 playthtough because I won't have unlocked DA:L items by the time I received DA2.

Some of it was easy. Pre-ordering the Sig Edition from EA (for 2 systems), turns out I get most of the bonuses there. Then comes the trickier items. Ser Isaac's Armor. Of course my 2 systems are PC and PS3 so I have to hunt down 2 of them. I even tried playing the Dead Space 2 demo to see if it's something I'd consider purchasing. (Didn't like it.) Managed to get my hands on a PC code, still trying to find a copy of the PS3 version without spending an arm and a leg.
Then there is Legends. I hate Facebook with a passion. So my choices are suck up the hate and grind through it to unlock the items or skip them. If I decide to grind, those 5 things will always be used no matter what. Lastly, we have the Razor that's unlocked from the Demo. Looking forward to that, but still takes the time to play it. Of course there's still the Amulet of Ashes, but that appears to be a Euro release only, so no idea what to do about that.
Also as mentioned is Sebastian. A fully developed character? Sure I'd want him along for the ride too. He more than helps to add to the replayability of the game.
So, it's nothing overly taxing (except for Legends) but still, I'm putting in an effort to try and collect everything. You can bet whatever I do get, I plan on using because of that.
