Hello all, I've decided  to convince my NWN party to start and play Baldur's gate (1 and 2). They have never played it before, but after 1 very long play session I've got them hooked :)
We've started BG1 on Easytutu (no further mods) with some friends of mine. And we really like the user journal system and the ability to add your own notes to the map. However, this does not always seem to work as well. We're playing with 3 people and if I (as game host/protagonist) add something to the user journal (a rumor for example), 1 guy does see it in his journal, but the other guy doesn't. And also sometimes labels from map notes seem to disappear for 1 guy after a reload.  Besides this the game itself runs pretty smoothly. Does anybody if this is normal, because of easytutu/because it's BG1 or should it be fixable or something? It's not gamebreaking, but it's a very nice tool and we would like to use it a lot ingame :)
On a different note, is there anyway to export this kind of text out of the game? e.g. for later reference

Hehe, sorry but I'm playing on LAN with some close friends so I'm afraid not.

And back on topic, we're using our own website now to keep track of quests and rumors etc :)

Sorry for dubbelposting, but I had another question.

So we completed Baldur's gate 1, it was epic! And we're now starting with Baldur's gate 2, for good measure we have installed:
- Throne of Bhaal
- Official patch
- BG2 Fixpack (v9 I think)
- BG2 Unfinished business mod

Now everything works fine in multiplayer, but just one thing: not all converstations with NPCs are shared anymore with entire party. I think it has to do with non essential NPC"s, if I'm talking to one of them, the other players don't see the conversation like in BG1. This is quite annoying, as now we either have to do the conversation all 3, or explain everytime somebody says something interesting to the others... Is this a BG2 game setting? Or is it perhaps a part of of one of the mods we have installed? Or is it just a part of BG2 itself?

What do you mean? If multiplayer works? Multiplayer itself works fine, we just would like to share all dialog with everyone in the party, like in BG1 where every conversation, even if somebody is somewhere else is shared with everybody.

if you play with like 3 people, you can choose who controls who. You can set permissions about who can do what, like talking/buying/traveling etc. We just enabled all permissions for everybody. And if somebody was talking to any NPC the game would pause and the screen would move to the position to the NPC that is being talked to and you can follow the conversation. In BG2 the same happens, but only for some NPCs while when talking to others nobody but the person that started the conversation sees the conversation

ooh, sounds cool - bt a little complicated.

Does that also allow a player to play only NPC companions, such as dynaheir and minsc maybe?

Yes, what we did with the 3 players: We all made our own characters and as we got them we divided the NPC's between the 3 of us.

Sounds fun, but i can't join since my bg1 and bg2 are akward atm.

Bg1 i got the TOTSC offcial patch, no other mods or patches, and BG2 i got reccomended instal with the nathaniel and amber mods.

Including a slow BG1 during big battles and a need to use the pause key a lot.

And we fixed the problem... It was just a case of enabling 'pause on dialog' on all the players computers. To obvious. xD Well we're happily questing through BG2 now ^^
With a wild mage (me), paladin, thief, Minsc, Jaheira and Aerie :) Possibly replacing Jaheira with Jan Jansen later on
