Wanted to fiddle with the toolset today, but it crashes immediately on startup. I have started it once succesfully, but as far as I know nothing has changed in my system configuration. Google provides no answers, re-installation also doesn't work... Running Windows 7 x64.

Even if i'm barking up the wrong tree, could someone tell me which tree *is* the right one, please?

I don't know what the problem can be, but I googled "Exception Code : c0000005" and there seems to be quite some people with this problems using different apps (mainly in Windows XP though). How much memory do you have and is it working properly?

The problem seems to be related with Windows 7's DEP (Data Execution Prevention) - data execution protection may be used to prevent apps from launching in restricted memory. Check if your memory is working properly and have a look at this thread about another program with the same problem, try the steps suggested there:

http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1311695

As a last resort, try changing compatibility mode for toolset.exe, different OS handle memory differently.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the methods you suggested (compatibily modes, DEP settings) but to no avail. I also ran a memtest to be sure, but no troubles there.

I can't stand it when something inexplicably stops working.. :-(
