What I'm saying is that in order to TRULY help her, you need to romance her. Something I won't do because I'll either-

A. Stay loyal to Ash
B. Romance Tali(Anyone on the old forums knows why)
C. Romance Miri(Cause I like her)

With the romance, she comes to grips with the fact that she needs help and she wants it. She wants to get better and have a chance at being somewhat "normal".

All I get without romancing her is either-

A. "Hey"
B. *insert expletive here*

Not counting the 2nd fiddle romance with her where you're really romancing one of the other two.

I would like to be her friend and get her to turn towards some sense of normality. But it doesn't happen.

That sucks.

I feel the exact same way. My Sole Survivor Sentinel wanted to "help" her because he felt sympathetic, but I ended up having to back away because any attempt at "fixing" her is invariably tied into romancing her, and he's going for Tali.

You should be able to work through Jack's issues without having to get into bed with her.

I think most people don't get you DO help Jack, she just doesn't out and out admit it. Her post-loyalty dialogue is incredibly significant in terms of her character development. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think she ever calls you "Commander" until the end of the game if you use her for the bubble AND she's loyal + the respectful nod back on the Normandy afterwards, does anyone think she actually hands those out casually?

Jack's volatile, rude and aggressive and she RESPECTS Shepard at the end, you give her somebody she can actually believe in, she just does it in her quiet begrudging way. Expecting her to be BFF with Shep at least at this juncture is asking for too much.

Jack is shallow in the extreme. She initially seems to be some sort of sociopath, but then that's cured with some attention from Shep?! Meaningless. No depth whatsoever.



Nice eyes mind, and I do like her. Mostly 'cause she's like one of those people that think they're mega cool 'cause they've done a bit of coke, but then they wise up a a bit and they're alright really.



Just don't make out like she's deep.

No way.  Miranda is where it is at. She has it going on.  Period, the end.

As for jack....yeah...sorry, but I don't do crazy.  As I said before...her face IS beautiful....but the rest, including her personality ruins it for me.  Plus I actual like Mirandas face better as well...looks pretty in a more 'real' way as opposed to 'I'm a doll' way.

Miranda= super sexy.  Like, I can't keep my hands and eyes off you sexy.

Jack= super crazy/scary girl.  Like, oh my lord please don't stalk me because i was nice to you kind of crazy.

Normal Jack (ie normal life, hair, no tats, normal looking version of her)= a doll to put in glass to admire for being pretty.

The former image is symbolic, the cybernetics coming out of her skin wouldn't be visible in reality unless she had a horific wound or something. And for the record, The Major is normally completely sealed and that was just a promotional picture for Ghost in the Shell.

Yes, I do in fact think Jack is attractive. In fact I'd go so far as to say she is gorgeous, beautiful even. Those eyes, those lips, the face and even the shape of her head. It's all perfect.

People get caught up by the fact that she doesn't have a twenty g chest and long hair and manage to keep overlooking that fact, hell Jack's face is a face I'd gladly wake up next to every morning. Shaved head and tattoos aren't an issue. Also, I kind of 'dig' her attitude.
Granted, Ashley is still 'my girl' as far as Mass Effect is concerned but I did one playthrough where I romanced Jack and you know what? I liked her.

I would actually go so far as to say that she looks better with her hair the way it is, because A. all the hair on women in Mass Effect so far looks like some hideous wig and B. I like how she remains attractive even though she doesn't follow standard conventions. I see no reason to change that.

As a side note, in addition to looking amazing Jack has one other advantage. Thus far she's the only one of the female characters in Mass Effect who hasn't been hit by that freaky uncanny valley effect. You know, where it doesn't render right or their eyes go wonky or their face proportions briefly mess up. Jack's the only one who doesn't suffer from that.
Gives more points to her let me tell you.


So yeah to sum it all up:

Jack is gorgeous, she's my second favorite female in Mass Effect and she gets further benefit by being treated more favorably by the uncanny valley. Also one last thing:

It's not her looks that are the big problem. It's her personality and attitude. Understandable given what she was subjected to but that doesn't make it any easy to deal with IMO.

Sorry its all about Liara on looks I like fuller faces. Jacks face is okay but the overall look of the character is bad and I dont like sociopaths. Miranda seems cool and all but her personality is a bit of a turn off plus she looks terrible from certain angles.

Jack has a feral beauty. She's not polished like Miranda, or sweet like Tali, but she is gorgeous. One of my favorite characters in the Mass Effect series.
