OP,seriously,i dont mean to be a duche, but come on.Nothing is every translated in my native language. But i dont cry about it.

Personally i live with the motto"if its made in that language,it should be experienced in that language"And its always better.Big surprise,i know. And you do realize Bioware is going out of their way to hire fantastic Hollywood voice actors.

Anyway i would be atleast sympathetic,if you didnt understand English and would be missing out on this great final chapter.I know, your only 15,but grow up.We dont always get, what we want or deserve in life.

Oh,you can try and fight for it,or you can try to be realistic. If they do compy with your request, they be accomodating, what, 0.01% of their audience.

People have been fighting for things, important gameplay and story design, ever since ME1 was released. There were so many great ideas, that got scrapped and continue to get scrapped. So at this point we dont even know, what kind of an animal ME3 will be.One thing, however thats never been in question. And thats the general quality of the voice-work.Its stellar, period.

You will still buy ME3 right........

And if you wont.......then your playing for the wrong reasons.;)

It all comes down to the money aspect ...and this unfortunately serves as an another excuse for piracy...I am not saying that it is completely worthless to fight about it but it is highly improbable of happening unless the high DA2 sale figures (highly unlikely due to same problem) make them (EA) change their mindset... we'll just have to be satisfied with what we'll get I guess...or wait for fans to make translation...just take it as an opportunity to revamp your english:)

Good evening,
My name is Martin, I am from the Czech Republic and I am fifteen
years old, so I better apologize for my english now. I am writing here
because I have one question. Why are you canceling all translations
of your games in Czech Republic? It started with Dragon Age 2, Ok, I
could handle it, but now... MASS EFFECT 3? I will not lie to you, when I
read that won't be czech translation I almost started crying. I have
bought Mass Effect and Collector's Editions of Mass Effect 2 and Dragon
Age: Origins and that was the best way how I can spent my money. I love
games of Bioware, really a lot. So why don't we deserve translation? You despise
of Europe? Or just Czech Republic? Are we second rate, or what? I don't think, that this message can
do something, but I just want to tell you, that you are broking my
heart...

P.S.: I know I posted this topic at wrong section, but I don't where I should post it.

It would cost over $250.00 for a 14 hour translation. Bioware couldn't afford that.

I'm from America...so everything is pretty much already made for us anyway.

I do feel bad for those of you who won't be able to play in your Native Languages...I think it's purely an Economic decision on the part of Bioware which kind of stinks.

The OP has a point and is allowed to make it, so anyone telling him/her to forget about it is just plain wrong.

And OP...you have no need to apologize for your English...it's actually quite good :)

My native language is Spanish, but I play all my games in English anyway because most of the translations are made with the Spain vocabulary/accent in mind. It just feels weird when you're from Latin America and start reading/hearing words like "vale" and "gillipolas" thrown left and right. <_<

BUT

If they already translated the first two games, dropping support midway for the last game in the trilogy is a awful dick move, so I support your cause.

I think that people who say that we should play in English (and people who say that we're whining etc.) don't fully understand the issue: Ten years ago, official Czech translations were extremely rare. And nobody complained - We were a small country, why should anyone bother translating a game just for us. However, as time passed, more and more games were translated. Czechs got used to playing games in their native language. On the day of release. They no longer had to play with dictionary in hand. Instead, they could fully focus on playing the game and imersing themselves in the story. They got used to the comfort. And now EA wants to take that away from us. I hope you can see why some Czech gamers are angry. It's like giving kid a toy and taking it away when he starts playing with it.
Plus EA might become an example for others - if the decrease in sales is small enough, other companies might follow their example.
By the way, I don't play games in Czech, the translation is always inferior to the original. With the exception of Czech games like Mafia of course. And I know that playing in English is good for you - I've been playing PC games for 15 years now (I am 18) and my English is really good.
To all those saying something about great voice actors - Czech people are angry about absence of subtitles, not voiceovers. Nobody expects voiceovers.
And someone said that English is taught at all schools - That is certainly true, even though students usually have a choice, English is not compulsory. However, back in the days of communism, all students had to speak Russian, most of the students from that time can't speak English. They may have learned some basics since then, but not enough for playing dialogue heavy games. And no, 45 years old hard working people do not want to learn new language just so they can play a computer game. And they probably haven't seen anything in Russian for 20 years, so playing ME 3 in Russian is not an option.

Really? Do you have a source?

Must be a money thing, 10 million in the Czech Republic and 5 million in Slovakia do not provide enough potential buyers. Ask how I feel, there are probably less than 10 games with greek subtitles.  :?

A ten year old should steer well clear of a game like that. Or be steered clear for that matter.

But truth is, it all boils down to the money made in certain regions. In my case its the other way round - at least it had been until they introduced multilingual DVDs. I loathed the German translations and ended up importing my games from the UK to be on the safe side.

Translations are always second best to the original. Even more so with games.

Maybe, but it's always easier to enjoy said acting with subtitiles so you can focus on the "acting" as opposed to translating what they just said in your head.

I'm from Slovakia and I don't mind that they've canceled Czech translation of the game ( The Czech translation of ME2 was really bad anyway). Instead of lamenting YOU language ignorant poeple should learn english! This abolishment of a translation should encourage you Ignorants to learn at LEAST one foreign damn language! You live in a world that uses english worldwide so ADAPT. The weak dies!

PS: Shame on you! Oh no I do understand exactly how the world works. If somebody can not defend and adapt themselfs then their lives are basicly forfeit. Learning english is also a form of defence.

Judging by how you spell "language" perhaps you could also use a greater grasp of English yourself.

Oh, and obvious troll is obvious.

Yeah I've changed it so now I can continue to spread my message. this its just my oppinion, I don't care what you weak people think or in what you believe I just hope that some poeple will take this as an advice.

PS: Ahhh I'm tired of people whose only argument is that somebody made a mistake in spelling and that is supposed to automatically disquallify them from having a valid oppinoun on a matter.  Such people do not have ANY constructive arguments. Look at the intention, not at the form.
