Because we want at least one segment like this in ME 3. ^_^

Posted Image

Just playing KOTOR for first time (actualy second, but few years ago, my PC crashed when I was in the middle of a game) and I was amazed by this scenery. Now imagine something like this but in graphics of ME 3. It would be awesome. But not unless we will running in place like this with some squadmate who has exposed skin and just lame breathermask :P

I´m curious about your opinions. Not just about not exposing skin of our squadmates, but also about similar sceneries like this. I missed something like this in ME 2.

One, very short scene in the beginning of a game is not what I was talking about. Some mission, with squadmates or something like that is what I mean. Although yes, this one was great.

One of the few moments that made sense in this kind of situation, even Joker had full head covering while the ship was venting.

Yeah I definitely suppport this. Especially if I imagine some cool mission in space with Dead Space vacuum "sounds".

I love that opening sequence. I fully support a mission aboard a derelict wreck in vacuum, if only to look at the sweet scenery.

I agree, but surprisingly, this is not enough for some people.

Without a doubt some vacuum and deep space missions would be good. As stated by another user. The opening scene where you are running through the loud ship, all banging and raging fires and then you are suddenly confronted with the silence of space, a massive world above your head, and just your breathing is spectacular.

This would allow the advent of space suits and armour

Although i would probably die untold time just looking at the scenery. You could just stand during the opening sequence of ME2 and stare.

It was truly awesome

Nope. The squadmates should look interesting and iconic, not dull and generic.

Armor can look interesting and iconic.

True (Shepard's N7 armour definitely qualifies as iconic), but not when armour betrays the characterisation of a squad mate; "proper armour" would not have suited Thane, Jack or Samara. Nor Miranda for that matter, but i've already been over how her new alternate attire is an insult to women.

Also, when you have a team of 12, fully kitting each of them out in armour would soon become aesthetically boring. Mass Effect 2 had the right idea with squad attires.

I wouldn't have an issue if they decided to give everyone a space suit for extremely hostile environments, but i'm not exactly for it. Zaeed's breather mask was really cool. Simply using the front design in a "proper helmet" wouldn't have been nearly as interesting.

Depends how it was designed.
Jack's could look like regular Cerberus armor that's been modified and graffitied etc.

Nor Miranda for that matter, but i've already been over how her new alternate attire is an insult to women.

Carmine was shot by a sniper rifle round

Miranda, samara, and thane can all be killed by a pistol round if their shields are not up. Posted Image

Just because helmets cannot protect one against all firearms does not mean that they should not be used. Better to protect from some then to protect from none.

ME is Sci-Fi, as in SCIENCE-fiction. It's annoying to notice blatant things that don't at least APPEAR to be scientifically sound. Especially when the devs previously did a decent job of it ME1: with Shepard AND squad donning helmets before going walkabout outside the Citadel tower in ME1.

I'm not talking about boring generic armor here, I'm arguing for personalized appearances that LOOK convincing for EVA's, with helmets (and toggle) where appropriate. You did it before, BW; you can do it again. And that latest alternate for Miranda only lacks a helmet to fit the bill perfectly.

That's because people who can't wear power armor don't suit a work of science fiction with a space soldier protagonist.

You want interesting and iconic cleavages - go play a fantasy game, prefereably a Japanese one.

***

I support fully armored troopers in ME3, who can have their "individualities" back only  when off-mission.

There is little I wish more for companions at ME 3 than getting individualized ARMOR with helmets for battles and individualized cloths for off-mission... the only thing I wish more is actually getting the whole ME 2 squad back.

Miranda's new armour in the appearance pack 2 does not look generic and dull at all. I hope that in ME3 all the squadmates will get some proper armour and headgear when appropriate whether it is Heavy Plated or a Surfer Suit.

In the ME universe it is of no difference. Armor is not supposed to protect from bullets. Kinetic barriers (aka shields) are. But armor (and helmet) needs to be there to protect from everything else: shards, shrapnel, fire, toxins, radiation, cold, and rain goddamit! (Remember Pragia? Poor Jack was wet like a fish by the time she got inside the building!)

Or i could just, you know, play Mass Effect 2. Fortunately the devs seem to like the idea of going the iconic route. You want everything to be realistic? Go join the navy.

Also, it wouldn't make much sense to have assembled a team of 12 Shepard-esque space marines, would it.

And absolutely true!  The armor isn't there to stop weapon's fire.  But all the other hazardous elements in space and battle.
