Not the SAME clothes but similar ones. You do upgrade their armor throughout the game still and Gaider has mentioned that there will be moments over the ten years where they might change.

I thought you were talking about ME2 (a game I very much dislike). PST (an excellent game) did lack custom appearances.crimzontearz wrote...
not quite the point Sylvius,The point is that PST did not lack on the tactical point of view just because you could not customize clothings, the only "shortcomings" if you want to call them that were aestetic ones
I would argue that the games are different in kind, howerver, as each PST companion was a unique type. There was only one Modron. There was only one Githzerai.
DA2 (and ME2) feature companions of types seen throughout the world. Isabela (or Jack) is not the only female human, so I see no reason why she can't wear clothing for female humans.I think static outfits on their own are a silly idea that add nothing to the game, but I'll accept them if they don't restrict our ability to customise our characters' armour-related statistics.at which point the whole thing becomes pretty much subjective, I am totally ok with static outfits as long as they make sense
In DAO, I could put Leliana in Massive Armour. If I can increase Isabela's stats to approximate massive armour, I won't have substantive complaints.

Some will change outfits but that's the exception rather than the rule.
You're not the only one disappointed.
Ah BW. You and your frankly unispired and boring as hell character outfits. *sighs*

The ridiculousness didn't actually bother me in ME2.crimzontearz wrote...
now with that in mind IU dislike ME2's outfits solely when they become ridiculous (let's see Jack's, Miranda's and Samara are the worst offenders followed by Grunt's and Vanilla Thane's)
I realise you weren't responding to me, but since Skyrim and TW2 have action combat, they're really not at all similar to DA2.crimzontearz wrote...
you know maybe you should just head over to the Skyrim or TW2 boards.....just saying [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]
And maybe I will. But we don't know yet, because for some reason they won't tell us.HTTP 404 wrote...
Im convinced your a robot. anyways, I think you might be disappointed with this in Da2.

But that's the exception rather than the rule. Somehow means more characters will change clothes?
...Did we just read the same sentence?
And if someone had misinterpreted his quote as being worse than it it was why would Laidlaw not correct them?
Grasping at straws. Most characters are going to be the rule. A few might be the exception. We have no way of knowing which characters are which but changing clothes is going to be the exception.

I agree with you, after all if you do have the choice of changing your companions' clothing, you feel more in control and it is more like your story and isn't it that the aim of a Bioware game? (You also could argue that if the companions had their choice of clothing, it is more reflective of their personality and character) But anyway, just like you said, Bioware could always release an Alternative Appearance Pack for Dragon Age II.SilentK wrote...
You can't win them all. There are some changes that I love as a voiced Hawke and there's this change that isn't really the best one for meit's not so bad, I fully anticipate to end up loving DA2 as much as I love DA, ME and ME2 and I like it that they have really designed outfits. It's just that I really liked being able to change their clothes. For example Morrigan, I just don't like showing so much skin. Figureshowing yes, showing everything no but that's just me. But since there are more people playing I cannot really expect them to cater only to my wishes. Keeping my fingers for a dlc with wardrobe. Personally I'm looking forward to the next ME2 dlc. Perhaps we will one day get dlc with cool new outfits, and hopefully someday soon
So it's a fantasy RPG when you can't even give your companions armor, weapons, staffs, and such?Bruce Venne wrote...

Maybe I was mislead somewhere, could someone clarify the genre of the game? Is it an RPG or an action/RPG, because the more I read about the mechanics, the more uncertain I am.
You can give them weapons too, just no armor. And the RPG and ARPG is the most tired debate there is on this forum, apart from "what is a RPG".hawat333 wrote...

I would prefer unique body models and choice in armor. Lacking that I think that I would prefer to have unique body models. One thing that I didn't like about DA:O is that if you put Leliana, Wynne, and Morrigan in the same armor they had identical bodies. That just seemed very out of place to me.
