No, I only play FemShep and use a custom look and class.
Do you use the default Shepard appearance?

Yes, because it's higher quality than any of the plastic mold custom faces.

I only play with a custom face... I tried to make him look as much as me as possible ( which wasn't really possible until I cut my hair really short - I usually have medium hair - because the hair can change the depth of many facial features ), and he looks 80% like me, the other 20% being limited by what can you actually do with your Shep ( cheeks and cheek gaunts always screw up, they "look" different in actual gameplay, so I had to make my Shep with that in mind).
It really isn't that easy...would love if BW would give us more customization options in ME3...

Yes (looks like a former highschool guy I knew), and all of them are named John (SG-A ftw).

My Sheppard Looks like a Buff younger Barrack O'bama. But I made him before even knowing who Barrack O'bama is, it's purely coincidental.

I do enjoy making a custom Shep, but also like to rough them up a little to give the more soldier on the field weathered style person.

The only time I used default male Shep was on my very first ME1 playthrough. Since then it has always been a custom (usually female) Shep

Always play with Sheploo. Never play female

I've never used the default appearances, and never will. Over 20 Shepards so far, one male, all the rest femSheps.

I always use default John Shepard, he looks far more badass, has fewer weird looking animations and there is the fact that it is impossible to make a custom Shepard who doesn't look slightly weird.
I see the default Shepard to be the face of the mass effect franchise, he is the True Commander Shepard, and I always use the default as a result.

I play default after playing custom Shepard the first time through and hating how weird he looked at times. I just find the detail amazing so I'm not willing to downgrade anymore.

I don't often play as a male Shepard but I have an Infiltrator male that uses the default appearance and it works, it's so hard to get a decent looking custom male Shep - you'll design him to look good on the char creation page, only to hate how it looks in cutscenes and having to start again from scratch.
Default femshep looks terrible and I couldn't ever imagine using that for a playthrough. On the femshep appearance, is it me or is it totally wrong that Sheploo has custom hair etc and default femshep looks like a 9 year old designed her from the char creation tool?

It doesn't seem very fair to me that it's so easy to create a nice looking custom female Shepard, but is absolutely impossible to create a decent looking male Shepard.
The thing that gets me the most is that facial hair doesn't even extend all the way to the sideburns... it's as if no one on the development team has ever had facial hair.
The default Vanderloo Shepard is pretty good though, so maybe that's the trade off. Still, i'd like to play as a Shepard with good hair.

My only issue with the default Shep is that he's not bulky enough for a Vanguard.
In my opinion Vanguards should look big and mean.

No, coming up with a custom was fun. Gives a sense of inidividualism in a world of sheploo's.

I've tried to make custom Shepards but they always come out looking weird, therefore I stick with the default male Shepard.

I only used the default once. I'm pretty good at making my Shep's look lifelike, but the default face is still the most realistic one. I prefer to have a unique looking Shepard for each playthrough, though.

Yes, because I quickly learned that Custom Shepards always have some weird aspect of their face that doesn't show up during the creation screen but shows up and makes him or her look horribly disfigured under certain lighting conditions.
Yep. I've restarted countless games and finally settled on the default face. More detail and just looks not as plastic. I wish they had the same haircut for the custom faces though. FemShep looks a bit better but probably because her face isn't ingrained in my mind like Male Shepard's face.

I can make a good face, without the crazy cheekbones. But I dislike the hair because they look too much like wigs. So I make them bald or crewcuts. And then they end up looking pretty similar to sheploo anyway, with different features but lower quality.
I tried using the Kaiden texture on the face but looks like wearing a mask unless you do the hair but the hair doesn't fit. Le sigh.I guess I could play with the skin tone shading until they blend but that would take forever and it still doesn't look great compared to the textures to sheploo. So more often than not, I say screw it and play sheploo.
