Honestly these days a Strategy guide book is not really worth it, the main reason is now that more and more companies are releasing DLC the books will end up being incomplete.
Also if the company makes an update to the game that radically changes an aspect of the gameplay the guidebook could end up being wrong in terms of stratagies (This is goes more for MMO's but some single and Multi player games do apply).
In terms of the ME2 book, it may be missing DLC weapons, Overlord/Kasumi/Shadow Broker packs.
So if you want it for the base game ya but you may still need to search online if you need help with DLC missions or opinion on DLC weaponry.

Are you kidding me? There is like zero exploration in this game. Even if you're a complete retard and research and explore nothing you'll finish the entire game 100%.
Bioware stupified Mass Effect 2 so ANY idiot can complete it without putting in any effort.

Never been big on guides. They are usually mediocre quality at best. And its more fun to find everything yourself. Besides, if you do need help then usually everything is available online.
