As always, I apologize if this has been answered before.
I am attempting to get the Advanced Reanimation codex entry. I am of course using Animate Dead with Spell Might active. Are there any other requirements or am I looking at a bug. If the latter is the case, has anyone solved this particular bug? I am in Awakening at this point and would prefer it be a fix that I can do in Awakening or Witch Hunt.
Thank you for any help.

Activate Spell Might, make sure its active. Kill and enemy, stand over its corpse. Cast Animate dead and make sure you actualy animate it as a pet.
It has to actualy work, not just be cast.

It's obvious but doing things like looting the body or having drain spells like 'Death magic' or 'Death Syphon' running will remove the cadaver before it can be raised.

Reaver "Devour" will destroy corpses too.

I'm sorry, both for taking so long to respond and for not being clear. The spell, though not always so, is being cast successfully. I do receive a skeleton pet. What I do not receive is the appropriate codex entry. What I was trying to figure out was whether or not I was actually casting Advanced Reanimation or simply Animate Dead. Thank you for your help all the same

The codex system is buggy… try testing your pet this way.
Advanced pets have more abilities than normal pets;
1. Save your game before a fight against normal targets.
2. Kill them and make a normal pet… a warrior should have about 3 things it can do or a mage say two spells (typically one defence & one offence).
3. Reload your save and try to raise the same target (i.e. mage or warrior) with ‘Spell Might’ active… have you got more abilities?
Also look at the level/ stats... yes, there is a random element to this but it is still a valid test.

The sad bit about all of this is that I was only doing it for the codex entry anyway. Trying to get all of the entries I could and whatnot. Thank you for all the help figuring this out though.

Did you ever figure out the problem? I'm having the same bug. Spell Might is active, but Animate Dead isn't giving me the Advanced Reanimation. I didn't have this problem when I originally played the game. If you found a solution, please post. That last codex entry is bugging me.
