Mass Effect doesn't need online play, it's a game that is strongly story based and that is one of the main things that make this franchise so great. I wouldn't like to play co-op and have the immersion taken away by some dimwit im playing with. And i wouldn't like to play a deathmatch watching some of my favorite videogame characters running around shooting each other.

you might think im being a abit too much obsessed, im not obsessed i just dont want any of the greatness taken away. The game is Amazing as it is so why try to fix something that isn't broken?

up yours man  multiplayer, co-op, or any online component could ruin mass effect so go back to your gay little **** hole you call the ps3 and leave this to people that actualy know how to think:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

?? seriously are you drunk or you cant read? what was that little rant all about? If you read properly you'll notice that im AGAINST an online component...so in the words of Dr Buddy Rydell.."goosefraba, goosefraba, you calm now?

I'd play it, I'm really desperate for a new online shooter and the universe could make the MP pretty unique.

As for co-op, that's also fine but I don't really care about that.

Ok I agree that it could be unique. But could you explain how the power wheel will work, or what powers the soldier will have to use in multiplayer as time-dialation cant be used?

I can only see them removing so much of the combat system to make it workable for MP that it would not be unique at all and just be GOW/ME edition only not as good.

I don't really know... maybe we could use the D-pad for a maximum of 4 powers?

SW:toR is their online game in space. Let ME3 be single player epic greatness.

Personally I would play both games.

Also, I would play a new ME Online... after ME3. But I dont think that there is enough of a fanbase for yet another MMO. And they would be competing against themselves with ME Online and SW:toR.... so - not going to happen any time soon.

Or it can be an free options if you will play online or not. I guess that will be the best solutions.

How will the new ME 3 be, will it be like ME and ME 2 [Single Player] that you can play without online connections or not?
And how will it be if we modd the game, what happens then? Will we be sued?

Just want to know, because I will modd the new game as well!
Is it Starcraft that have sued the gamemodders? Correct me if I wrong?

You have done a good job with ME and ME2, and all DLC is really good.

My wish for ME3, is that we can play the game like we do today with ME2 [Single Player]. No online game, if sow, make it a free option.
Best of luck with your developing. :)

- Inge

-ME3 will most likely be like the other two in regards to how they're able to be played offline
-ME3 modding will mostly likely be allowed.. just frowned upon.. voided warrenty not responsible etc
-As for starcraft 2 i don't believe anyone was sued.. if youre talking about "world of Starcraft", the mod it was pulled because of the name. Blizzard most-likely has rights and plans for it way down the line. As a side note he was told to meet the developers (take that however you want) and somebody else notice his work/mod and offered him a job.

If Activision Blizzard ever tries to summon me to a place on their turf, I will hide my family and go into it with enough firepower to outdue the lobby shootout scene from The Matrix.  I refuse to be beaten and interrogated by Activision Security like Infinity Ward was.  Has anyone even heard anything from those modders since the whole ordeal?  I'm thinking we should assume the worst.

Dont waste time with online that noone will play after 1-2 months.

This. I don't think an online portion is that bad, but I just don't want it to be anything like the other 48265 games where you can shoot your friends. It'll probably end up like a waste of time and money on BioWare's side, as no one will play it anymore two months after release.

Please no. Just no.If ME3 has any sort of online multiplayer function then more than likely the story and single player experience will suffer as do most games that introduce a multiplayer. Hopefully Bioware will be smart and make ME3 exclusively a single player game and then if they want to give the Mass Effect universe multiplayer then make a spinoff game later on whose sole purpose is for the multiplayer.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing a game set in the ME universe having online play. But as far as the conclusion to Shepard's story is concerned; online play is an absolute no-no.

Dead Speace 2 and Bioshock 2 are the perfect examples where the multiplayer part is nothing but a useless mediocore addon to a game that should have stayed single player.

In my eyes, if EA is hungry for money and want a ME multiplayer then they should create spin off game and hand that over to DICE. While Bioware can create and doing single player games.

To original OP, online component should be optional beyond registering the game.

Multiplayer: NO!

No... just not. ME has and will always be a single player adventure. We are most likely to get an Oblivion style RPG next... where you choose your race in the ME universe. Co-op and Multiplayer would kill the universe. I understand the whole Merc battles things, but where in the ME lore does it say you can respawn, unless you are 7-cycle Krogen tank-bred? Are we just going to have some faction of Salarian scientists with Galactic race cloning tanks to make our respawn seem ok? Is a Krogen's regen ability going to be too much of an advantage in multiplayer? Is a Quarians immune deficiancies too much of a disadvantage? Is your co-op pal going to talk to all your crew mates with you? Who makes the choices in the story? Who decides what skill points to assign? You can only have one captain on a ship... so who decides what star cluster to go to? I for one.. would hate being the person 2 and having to sit while I wait for person 1 to make all of these decisions to move on to the next mission.

I'm amazed so many people want multiplayer... and nobody has mentioned yet that it would be on EA's paid-for features... what is it project $10? In other words... if you don't buy the game new, you have to pay to play online.

oh GOD no. People who want multiplayer clearly have not thought this through.

Co-op with your friends now and then? There is only ONE shepard in a Mass Effect universe. One Miranda, one Jacob, one Thane, etc...having Co-op COMPLETELY throws the entire story out the window, and without the story, what is there to Mass Effect? The gameplay is hardly revolutionary, but we stick around because the combination of stellar storytelling and compelling combat works.

Adding multiplayer would be like some kid who wins a soapbox derby race, then gets cocky and adds all sorts of addons and "cool accessories" and ends up wasting his time on things that just weigh the car down, rather than working on streamlining it.

Singleplayer only for ME3. Unless the Mass Effect devs are complete fools, there will be no multiplayer.

"But they SAID there's going to be an online component!" Yeah, well so did Mass Effect 2. It's called the Cerberus Network.

a thought occurs to me:

"Hi Shepard."

"Hello to you too, Shepard."

"I see you chose to bring Kasumi and Miranda along with you."

"Indeed. I see you favor Miranda as well, but opted for Garrus?"

"Indeed."

"Well then."

That would totally work, right?

Then I'm right as the Halo series is a sub-par set of games.

Whats up with the multiplaying crowd? Most of the game is spend talking and not shooting. Unless is some kind of "arena match", multiplaying would be very limited.

It is a dead horse Jim. Please stop beating it.
