I don't think she should have a body, but more of a holographic video link that shows her face only. Obviously modeled after Tricia Helfer.

I actually like that idea, but the face video link shouldn't be everywhere, just in the areas where you can already interact with EDI really.

I don't know, the face would be creepy. EDI is supposed to be a machine. Her emotions are sythetic and inhuman. Even in her voice, there's a slight hint of emotion, but it's slight and it's clear that she's still just a machine. I think giving her a face would just be heading a bit too much into the unsettling end of the Uncanny Valley.

But.... isn't that a good idea? I'm not saying make her romanceable, but I don't mind being forced to think about what EDI could represent. I mean, isn't it already sorta uncanny with her 'emotional inflections' as well as being a 'vagina ball?'

I don't think its physically possible to make EDI a body, she needs an entire section of the ship for a.i. core, so unless she gets a metal gear sized body i don't think it'll work

I would be in support for EDI evolving her holographic avatar into something more personable than the 'vagina ball'. She is an AI, so this kind of change within her personality is completely plausible, especially as she determines human preferences based on Jokers extranet history.

No... and the odd chance that she does get a body, she better not be romancable.. (is that even a word?)<_<

Pretty much. There's only a few sections where the EDI ball(Refuse to call it a Vball) shows up, so it would look awesome.

While it was terribly executed, I did really enjoy the concepts behind the Andromeda universe. The whole avatar idea for ship AIs had a lot of potential, the writers just wasted it.

Given the tech level of the ME universe, I don't think giving EDI a body would make sense, but I could possibly see a really cool game mechanic if the writers/developers were willing to take a chance.

Give the player the option to take a heavily upgraded LOKI mech with them in place of one squad member. EDI could then control that mech and fight in the squad. To make it fair, I think that unless your Shep was an engineer, or had Tali or Legion along, you wouldn't have the option to repair EDI's battle damage. However, in the event that her mech was destroyed, she could take over another mech if its shields were down.

EDI-YMIR anyone? Hell yeah!

Also, they really should give EDI a different holographic image. No matter what she way saying, I couldn't get 'talking vagina' out of my head.

Besides the fact that she already has a body (the Normandy) it is impossible for her to get one of the quantum blue box is bigger than 6 inches cubed unless you want to go for a small tank sized body like in Ghost in the Shell.

Otherwise she would be irreparably changed by such a shift. Codex, read it.

You know, in over 14 playthroughs of ME2 I didn't make that comparison ONCE. Not once.

Some people really need to get their heads out of the gutter (or cess pool as the case may be).

I'm not talking about moving her out of the Normandy, I'm talking about remote control. Hell, Veetor was programming multiple mechs from his little trailer on Freedom's Progress. I'm sure EDI has the brainpower and processing speed to control one real-time.

Ever read the Ender series? I liken EDI to Jane's brainpower.

And I'm sorry, it's a talking vagina... I didn't think of it at first, but after I saw an ME comic that made the joke I haven't been able to un-see it.

...

I can see this being done.. EDI manages to hack a Reaper, gets slightly overwhelmed by the data input, and picks up a large number of personality plugins. She then decides to use a holographic face Holly style.

And I'd hate for the little idea there to happen. It just seems plausible =/

This. I still don't see it.

If EDI "gets a body" it should be a geth mobile platform. That would be seven different kinds of awesome.

Yeah, with an 8th sprinkled on like Gold garnish at a high class restaurant.

Seconded... make EDI a mobile platform. I suport EDI-Geth.

Or maybe an EDI support module on Legion like Cortana?

I didn't understand why people thought EDI looked like a talking vagina. Until I looked up EDI talking Vagina on google. I know I know the risk...

But the prize!

No she shouldn't have a body because that way Mordin will speculate EDI's and Joker's relationship once more with malice. Also, I bet fans would start making more grotesque fan fictions about the pairing BUT if she did have a body I would go for Tricia Helfer.

How about this in ME 3, Joker meets the voice or model who's working with Cerberus behind EDI during the aftermath of the final battle. That would be cool, Tricia Helfer.

I'd rather she not have a body, but a change in avatar.
