She has already said that the Normandy is her body and she is a part of it. It would be super lame for them to somehow put her AI mind into some dead chicks organic body. The only reason I would do it is cause I'm pretty sure Joker's a virgin and he's my buddy and I'd like to see him get a girl. But NO, she doesn't need a body. Her and Joker work too perfectly together to break that team up.

Yes she does seem "very happy" with new awareness and freedom. So much so that it would seem more likely she would want to experience more.   Like Data from the Star Trek series or the holographic doctor from the other one.  It just seems like a waste of time to do this now at the last minute though.

Makes a lot of sense. Not sure what you mean by last minute though ? ME3 is by no means imminent.

What i ment was that ME3 is the finale, and to see where or how EDI would change or evolve now seems like "last minute".  EDI is intreduced in ME2 and was shown evolving through interacting with Joker. But starting her out in ME3 with new design or upgrades just doesn't make sense to me. So watching as she evolves to the "Data" or "Holographic Doctor"  phase through ME3 storyline would be a "last minute" kind of deal.

We don't know when ME3 is going to start. Could be months or years. We dunno. Unless there is new info I dunno about. 

 

I believe it was said in the forums here that ME3 would be more likely a continuation of ME2 (an expansion),  when they (BW) was in defense of their update that cancelled out the squad points cheat (i think).
It doesn't actually mean anything, but how i understood it, they made it sound like ME3 would start from the last scene in ME2
