I made a submission about the NWN2 IWD remake to Reddit.com in the gaming section that seems to have generated a little interest. People who might have been turned off by NWN2's performance/bugs after initial release don't seem to be aware of the current state of the game, or some of the great content available. Nostalgia for older games and modern remakes seem to get quite a bit of attention over there.

Registration on reddit is as simple as it gets, no email or verification required, just a username and a password. Make an account and give this submission and other NWN2 submissions an upvote. A small community with a couple dozen people can get a lot of attention on Reddit, and it could be a great tool to get people interested in the much improved current state of the game, especially with it only being 20 dollars for the entire shbang on Steam.

NWN2s bugs are worse now than before sadly. I can't even use they keyboard to move anymore. Performance got a boost in MOTB. I really don't think its either. It's a 5 year old game, people move on.

I had the keyboard movement problem - it turned out that another program (some sort of ID guard bloatware that came with the win7 laptop) was hijacking my keystroke when certain programs ran, so i uninstalled it and now it runs fine on my laptop and I can use the keyboard.
I have played most of the OC and nearly all of the SOZ xpansion, and the only problem I ever had was the AI in SOZ, which was completely resolved by Tony_K's companion AI mod.

Ya removing the spyware got rid of the problem the first time. When patch 1.23 came out and they made the "floating/ghosting" problem, the key spazzing returned, for good, for some of us. Its been there on 5 different PC platforms for me. It's why I rarely play other modules.

It's still a great idea to cross promote off site and I applaud your good will, HotDogBun. You and your Seven other Bun-mates will soon be seeing a package of 10 coming your way. More than enough to go around. Thanks for posting this.

The problem isn't just with the game it's with the machines people use to run it, the game wasn't designed to be run on modern equipment. Also I have seen alot of complaints about performance issues and bugs, I bought NWN2 recently on steam and I havn't enountered any bugs, I had a problem getting used to the camera control but it was fine once I got used to it. One problem I had was lag, as with most games this was solved by tuning down the graphics settings (all that is weird is my computer should be able to run it on top settings but owel, so long as it works.)
As for the game being out dated and people moving on alot of people still play Baldur's Gate and the original Fallout games. I myself am looking for a copy of Planescape Torment, another old game.
The graphics in NWN2 actually surprised me with how good they are for an old game, I don't think Dragon Age looks all that much better when it boils down to it.
Also with RPGs there are alot of players who see good graphics as a nice bonus and are mainly concerned with the story, "modability" and the amount of content.
So yes NWN2 is an old game, and yes it does show it's age but I think it will be along time before it can be completely written off. I hope bioware take a look back at BG and NWN when making DA2 and future DAs. There is alot they seem to have forgotten.

NWN2 looks terribly cartoonish after having played The Witcher.

That's art direction though, not the engines fault.DannJ wrote...
