Why did you buy ME2?

I didn't plan to. People are comparing ME2 dialogue Wheel with DA2 + ME 2 is Bioware's product. The same developer that produce Neverwinter Night and DA:Origin. So I thought, what could possibly go wrong?

This was my attitude with Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins as well. I didn't realize though, that the reason I liked the earlier games were because members of their team that have since quit the company and not really a thing about how the company itself or how it is run, is magical.

Bioware added too much water to their mix.

So out of interest, why are you on these forums still? Just wondering that's all.

I know what you mean, but yeah, it's not supposed to be a sequel to what happened in Origins, it's the next story that takes place in the 'Dragon Age'.!

exactly!

The problem is that it claims to be a sequel, and I disapprove. I would like it if they came straight out and said, 'This is just another game set in the same universe'

Have to agree with all three of you but have to add that personally a set of straight sequels with the same characters as DAO wouldn't have set well with me. Since the wardens don't live long I could only see the last game ending one way...the wardens death and Sheps death in ME2 was enough to last me a lifetime. :(

if they make good story i will forget that i cannot play non-human character in fantasy game, in my humble opinion discussions about what type of sequel DA2 is are meaningless, this decision was made at very first phase. but... when in interviews they are saying that "now the combat gives more satisfaction" i feel uncomfortable, coz from gameplays i saw very little tactic [and that was most satisfactioning combat-thing in DAO].

from interviews they told about how DA is a great successor of BG; after DAO it was very weird to recall these words comparising i.e. sidequest: "hey, i am fred! here is my cool quest-bag! it is cool! i am in powerful organisation! .. no. u cannot join. BUT HEY! u can go to this board tick up a quest and return with thingie and put it into the QUEST BAG!" -from a bunch of BG2: hmm liches? human flesh armor? harpers? ilithid in sewers? ... and now again: QUEEEST BAAAAAG!

-that was a nightmare - after news about DA2 i wished "they will make big world with good and climatic sidequests"; and now i see that they make next action with rpg....

-why not rpg with action?

-where is the spirit of BG?

DAO was suppose to be like BG...not the whole franchise...people need to learn this man. And by the way...Tactics are all very much there...they are simply chooseing not to do them in those videos.

If you mean do we read reviews, view trailers etc.. to understand the games, my answer is no. Not mostly. Only recently. Normally I buy rpg games during break hours. I'm working guy. So my choices of games are mostly based on titles with RPG's tag.

You should stop doing that. As you've just said, you don't like all RPGs. Buying any RPG ensures that you'll buy some games you don't like.

How is the game you bought different from what you thought you were buying?

Mainly due to lack of armor customization, lack of personal involvement, Shepard is different person ( partially due to voice tone and paraphrase system ), choices are based on paragon/renegade point of view. I don't view thing as black or white and good and evil. That's on my mind right now.

All that was well-known in advance, wasn't it? Well, except for the "personal involvement" bit, since that's subjective.

Note that you don't have to care about Paragon/Renegade points. I just do whatever's right for the particular Shepard I'm playing, regardless of which option it is.

I guess I'm just not following this. The "spirit of BG" means having very large sidequests?

At this point, I think folks are mostly spinning their wheels and going around in circles, so I'm going to lock this.
