Hey,

I have some questions about DA:O xD.
Here they are:
1. So once you finished the game you can't explore anymore but can you explore the whole world BEFORE you finished it?
2. Is the game like NWN 2? (didn't like that one xD)
3. Is it really complex and all? Don't like that either xD.
4. Could it be something like the portable Final Fantasy's? (I liked those :o)

Thank you :D

1. Before

2. In some respects...

3. Yes, one of it's selling points

4. I have no idea what you are implying here.

1. Um, yes, you can explore all the areas in the game before finishing it, barring perhaps some areas that are accessible only if you make certain choices or have a certain origin.

2. Uh, kinda? It's a 3D roleplaying game but it's not DnD, the combat is reportedly a million times better and the whole thing is much more polished and better put together.

3. Yes.

4. You're a troll, aren't you?

1. Essentially, yes. ther emay be some places you can no longer get to, fo rone reason or another.

2. Kinda? There will be similarities. It will be more like NWN 2 than it will be like Final Fantasy X.

3. Likely, though it depends on what you're refering to. You'll have a lot of choices when leveling up, and will need to keep track of several different party members and enemies during battle. The story has multiple branches and options for doing things. Which piece of complexity wouldn't you like?

4. No, it won't. Well, I suppos esome other game in the franchise might be. Origins will not, however.

Well, if you add story, managing a team and dialog, maybe.

I... I just don't know. I can't help but think you are trolling, given that you downloaded the CC and made a character and then uploaded it. That does not seem like something you would do if you had such basic questions about the game as the ones listed above (2-4).

However, if you were being genuine, I apologize. And I will even give my honest opinion in reply to your actual questions, and even to your implied question.

1. I don't know.

2. It is like NWN 2 in some ways, different in others.

3. It is more complex than a shooter. It is more complex than Mass Effect (I think). "Really complex" is a subjective judgment. It is not complex enough for me, no game is.

4.I doubt very seriously that it is much like the portable final fantasys, but I have not played them, soI don't know for sure.

Implied question: "Will I like this game?"

Answer: Gut reaction is that you will not.

Sure - with a whole heck of a lot more interaction with NPCs (especially your companions) and more choices as to how you complete quests.

Hm, hard to say really.

You could compare it to Nwn2 though :)

What didn't you like about NWN2? It's difficult to answer your questions considering you don't give many details or insight into your questions. Please be more specific.

Actually I didn't like anything about nwn2 everything was too dark and well a high learning curve, no?

Point is, I'm older now and I'm used to more complex things. I like dragon age journeys :D

It's easier to get into DA:s system than DnD if you never played tabletop. Not so many classes and skills.

Aside from knowing the ins and outs of building a "proper" DnD character in NWN2 I'd say that DAO most likely has a similar learning curve.

Well I could write an essay.  I will try to keep this short.

Similarities between NWN2 and DA:O.

Both 3d role playing games.
Both have unlimited pause functionality that makes micromanagement possible.
As a result, both games are balanced for at least some micromanagement.
Both have a (moderately) complex rule set, at least as complex as the basic PnP rpg.
Both have lots of inventory management.
Both have lots of npc interaction.
Both are set in worlds with lots of lore.
Both allow for tactical combat (as tactical as a raid in an MMO, more tactical than average MMO combat).

Hmm... there are others, but I will stop.

I think you'll like it. The system appears to be way simpler than D&D and the depth is more in trying out weird builds, rather than memorizing a large rule system. DA:0 should also be very dark, but the characters around you, their lifelikeness should bring light to your game.

I also think you might not like it for the first half-hour. The tactics from the portable FF games will probably be similar, but this game is more real time based. Plus, unlike most of the games you like, this game has lifelike visuals somewhat like Oblivion.

Usually, Warrior - hit stuff til it falls over :)

Easiest class is probably warrior+champion+templar+sword&board.

But you can just set all of your characters to autolevel if you don't want to understand.

Not a bad idea for party characters if you don't want to micro-manage, but ALWAYS level your own character manually - even if you're a proper RPG beginner - IMO anyway :)

Edit: why the hell doesn't ":)" turn into a smiley on these stupid forums :?
