I liked every rpg that Bioware made so far (Sonic Chronicles excluded since I never played that). Some were better than others, but they were all great games, in my opinion.

Yes, ME2 was very bad. Very weak story with no substance.

If it was done by another game company i may have said it was an ok game but not from Bioware.

Maybe. We tend to see those games that touched us in a brighter light than others. I have fond memories of the NWN OC too. :) Difference was most of them come from multiplayer experiences. It was my first exposure to rp'ing in NWN, even if it was not my first experience with an RPG.

So long as the memories are fond, it doesn't matter where they come from. ;)

Back on topic, if ME Galaxy counts, then yes, that is definitely the worst received Bioware game.

That is a rather unfair view if you ask me. The game is what it is. Who made it shouldn't really dictate whether it's good or bad.

Hmmm... BG2 was my first ever RPG and I still play it every now and again. Throne of Bhaal was a great ending and after that I went back and played BG1.

NWN never interested me too much from the start as the multiplayer never interested me at the time and the OC felt like a big step back in terms of companions and what BG had established.

KOTOR was great- at the time, I was a huge Star Wars nerd and the thought of mixing Star Wars and a good BioWare RPG was fantastic.

Jade Empire....I don't know. It wasn't bad, but it just never clicked for me. I only played it through once, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it seemed like KOTOR dressed up in an Asian theme with boring combat. Probably didn't help that I played on the PC with a mouse and keyboard and despite appreciating the different setting, I was just largely indifferent to it. Kind of "meh."

ME1 I had a similar reaction to as I did JE when I first finished it. I still find the companions rather boring as they seem like walking codex entries and not fleshed out characters. But as I played through multiple times I appreciated it more and more. I'd say its a decent game, but not great.

With ME2, I had the opposite reaction as I did ME1- I loved it after I first finished my first playthrough, but with my 2 subsequent playthroughs, my opinion of it dropped quite a bit. It just got really boring- the combat was predictable and bland, the worlds felt smaller and more disjointed and the story a bit of a mess. To the point where I'm actually not really interested in ME3, at all.

Origins was great though- it felt as close as something like BG as BioWare has made since BG2. Surely not without its flaws, but amidst so many other predictable and cookie cutter action RPGs it was a breath of fresh air.

I played ME 1 after i plated DAO, big mistake, I found ME1 team management very difficult, i just had to accept those guys doing whatever they wanted. I also found it hard to understand about the various effects of certain items/abilities.

Also yes i prefeer dragon age than Zelda .. But i still can notice why Zelda or final Fantary are so popular and considered masterpiece. When you make a critic you can't wear your fanboy glasses.

I haven't played ME: Galaxies, Sonic, MDK or Shattered Steel but I've liked everything else from Bioware. The only game I would say disappointed me would be NWN since it felt like a step back from BG 1&2 where the party system was concerned. I got over that though and had a blast with it, and with its later expansions.

BioWare's 'worst' games are mediocre, not bad.

Like someone else mentioned: this is purely subjective...

For me, they've pretty much been involved somehow in all of my favorite Games...even the gang at CDProjekt Red used Bioware's Aurora Engine in The Witcher.

Everyone's going to find one they don't like, for me it was NWN2 and that had more to do with graphics issues than anything.

Out of the Bioware games I've played, none have been bad as such - most have been very good. BG1 was the one I've liked least, BG2 the one I've liked the most. BG1 seemed very flawed to me, but I saw potential in it - BG2 filled that potential and more.

NWN1 was a disappointment, after BG2 had raised expectations so high, but it wasn't a bad game as such... just mediocre.

KotOR was.... goodish.

DragonAge was awesome.
I actually just finished Mass Effect for the first time (like 10 minutes ago :wizard:) and I have to say I loved the game - even though I am generally not a fan of shooters, and there's a big dose of shooterdom in ME. I'm about to install ME2, looking forward to it, though I've heard that not everybody's a fan of ME2 after ME.

On the whole, I think Bioware is a standout games company.

ME2 is something people seem to love or hate. Some complained about it putting more on action and shooting than the RPG aspect but i think in many ways it suits the game and adds more pace than was present in trhe first game. Storyline wise i think the first game had a much stronger storyline that was more together and made more sense. But ME2 has the better characters and backgrounds. So it's all very subjective. It's hard for me to choose between the two i guess i prefer the storyline and attention to detail the first game had and i prefer the second games fluid combat and high paced action sequences. So theres probably something in both games to enjoy. And there's the fun of taking your character for another adventure it's a really fun feature to bring back your Shepard it's like being reunited with an old friend and going on another big quest.

Bad? Nope.
I have some mixed feelings about ME1 (easily my least favourite Bioware game) and Jade Empire (dull combat system but fascinating world), but I really wouldn't call them bad.

Suppose you could *maybe* call NWN1 bad the way it was released, before any patches and expansion packs, *and* if you didn't have internet access so you could download any mods....but then again you really should not be playing the game in such a case.

Haven't played the Sonic game though, and can't remember much of Shattered Steel.

Thats funny because I never understood why Mass Effect 1 got so much praise, I thought it was incredibly ****.

You know I really dont understand posts like this especially if they are comparing the game to the original Mass Effect. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion however I would like to understand how people consider the story line and characters of ME2 weak when compared to ME1.

Of course you could just be bashing the series as a whole which would be more understandable (not that I agree with it, well I do agree that ME1 was **** but I do think ME2 was a vast improvement) however usually when ME2 is singled out the poster is comparing it to ME1 which they usually state is gods gift to RPGs.

NWN was very, very popular... and I know I'm in the minority for those who played it and didn't enjoy it. *shrug* I don't care, and I'm sure NWN fans don't care either.

NWN is a hard one to judge, while I did still enjoy it the OC I must admit it wasnt great, especially considering the game the game followed BG2 which raised peoples expectations so high (however this is probably a moot point for you since going by your posts you diddnt think much of the BG series?). However it would be unfair to judge NWN on the OC alone, I find those who praise NWN do so not because of the OC but the online components and the toolset that was released with the game which gave the game life far beyond the OC, heck I hear there a still a heap of people that still play NWN online in the persistent worlds people have created.

As for bad games, as I have already stated I would consider ME1 bad, also does Awakening count? Because I really did not enjoy that expansion one bit to the point that I wish I could erase it from my memory.

They are a good company. I've enjoyed all their games, some more than others, but all of them more than any other company.

edit:  Should have said - all of their games that I've played.
