Yeah, I'm not buying ME3 until there's official or (good) unofficial controller support for pc. Can't really stand mouse/keyboard for long sessions (health reasons).

i just didn't like m/kb in the demo so i made the pinnacle profile and it feels like it's meant to be played with a controller everything works perfectly

Same here. Not buying ME3 for PC until some form of gamepad is supported.

Any idea if the Splitfish Shark controllers will work with PC?

This is plain stupid if you ask me. I've completed 3 ME1 playthroughs and 2 ME2 playthroughs, using keyboard and mouse only.. But I played ME3 demo on a friend's xBox yesterday and it was amazing. It really isn't meant for pure keyboard/mouse usage. I ordered a xBox360 gamepad, if BioWare don't want to respect us, we will find our own way to prevail. But it's really a shame, BioWare, remember that.

What's sad about the gamepad thing is how backwards thinking and almost condescending Bioware are about it.

There's been plenty of threads about the lack of gamepad support in the past, and Bioware's response, almost verbatim, is: "we made a PC version of the game that supports proper PC input methods only" as if no one on the PC uses a gamepad and would be a fool to do so.

Meanwhile, all of my PC gaming friends use 360 pads, and even on forums and such it seems there are plenty of "serious" PC gamers that use gamepads now due to the prevalence of 3rd person games that are more suited to them.  On top of that almost every PC port/multi-platform release under the sun now supports 360 pads. So this isn't a case of fans being over-entitled and asking Bioware to do something that a vast majority of their peers aren't already doing - this is a case of Bioware failing to meet a simple standard that almost every other game on the market meets and then making a rather out-of-touch excuse for it.

Such a flagrant disregard for a section of their own consumer base.

Will probably wait and pick the game up second hand, download a pc crack to get the locked DLC, and hopefully by then too some nice person in the gaming community will have come up with a satisfactory work around. No thanks to Bioware.

What I don't understand and I've seen it here and I see it on other threads. Why do K/M users get all hot and bothered because some want gamepad support. I mean if you don't want to use a controller don't. K/M is always priority for PC games. It's not like they're not going to support K/M in favor of gamepad. I just don't get it. I don't want to play Mass E on console because it's the less pretty of the bunch. Some want the true 1080p, high end graphics, smooth frames that 2 SLi Nvidia GPUs with i7 980, SSD provides from the comfort of a couch. Why shouldn't that option be there? I curse Bioware for being lazy and not giving it fans options. I rather pay 20 bucks extra to play Mass E in all it's glory than a washed down copy. That's just me so I hope we keep the threads going looking for ways to re-enable gamepad like in Mass E 1,2. Coalseced.ini here I come :)

I think it's some bizarre, smug, false sense of superiority. Like oyu say, if you prefer K/M, you really habe no business posting on threads like these ones if all your goiung to do it bore us with the same rethoric we've heard a million times already.

I love my mouse for racking up headshots as an Infiltrator, don't get me wrong. But sometimes you just want to run the game through your TV and sit on the couch with a controller and enjoy the beautiful cinematic this franchise has to offer.

The only reason I bought this game for the PC was for the improved graphics (it certainly wasn't for the privilege of using Origin). The graphics seem a waste if you're confined to sitting at a desk, staring at a monitor.

Controller support has been a common feature among cross-platform games for some time now. As gamers we've come to expect it. I can't understand why Bioware are so reluctant to include this functionality.

I'm one of the people who prefer the control pad over the K&M, even though I'll agree that K&M is better.

Why? Because being a left hander the controller for me is easier to use and I don't have to remember which key does what.

They can't be serious? Is this a joke? Did I travel back in time in my sleep?

Mass Effect 3 in 2012 and it DOESN'T have gamepad support natively? I am the marketing/development/whatever manager for Bioware/EA. I have a university degree and am paid quarter of a million bucks per year. Gee there are potentially roughly a couple of hundred MILLION PC gamers in the world who might want to buy my product. Many of these have grown up using gamepads over the last decade and are now wage-earning PC users.

I know - lets give them a reason not to buy my product - that makes sense.

Waaaaaaaait a minute, it must be really really really hard and time-consuming and expensive to create gamepad controls in a PC game. Especially one which is made for consoles as well. And it's not like other game developers and publishers can be bothered to do this for their customers!!!

(Borderlands, Fallout, Assasins Creed etc etc etc. Xbox 360 wireless controller support, plug and play, auto-detect, context coontroller icons)

This issue is just another nail in the coffin for this company. Origin-only, no Steam. Day 1 paid DLC. I will just reiterate what everyone on the planet outside of EA and game "critics" already know:

Like a LOT of people, I won't be buying this game

I have bought both PC and 360 versions of this game(sorry for not registering either one of them to this site yet), I've played the demos on both platforms and I gotta say the 360 controller is the most suitable input for it. It's honestly pretty questionable to not to include a controller support for the PC version. It actually means that they have taken it out at some point of the developement because this game is clearly designded the consoles in mind first and it has been ported from consoles to PC. I would much like to enjoy this game on my PC with superior graphics and possible mods and play it on my TV. Right now I can't do that comfortably. Keyboard and mouse does not work well in front of a TV. The 360 version works pretty well but the graphics, while being great for a console, are something that bugs me. I have a 50 inch screen and I sit under three meters away from it. The resolution, blurry FXAA and all other details as well as the framerate are issues that really bother me. Especially the framerate which can go under 20fps during some fights. If I had the controller support, I would get the best of both worlds and I bet many of the PC players here agree.

Skyrim, Witcher 2, Batman AC, Assassin's Creed, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 and RAGE are just some games I've played last year which include native controller support. Witcher 2, Ass Creed and the Batman actually works better on a gamepad. And in Rage I tend to switch between k/b mouse and gamepad between the driving and shooting sections. Gamepad simply suits some games better, Mass Effect 3 being one of them IMO.

The user made controller patches for ME2 were really clumsy to use but it showed that there are still remnants of the controller support in the code. You just needed to change few values in the config files to get it working on some level.

Bioware please, just include the controller support for this game via a patch. So many people are requesting the gamepad support and I can't imagine it being a large thing to implement. You already have the icons and part of the code.

Give us both gamepad support and FOV options(even the possibility to edit them via config files) and I'm pretty satisfied already.

I've just installed my copy only to be shocked (to put it politely) about the lack of gamepad support - at some point between ME2 and ME3 I got an Xbox 360 controller and was really looking forward to using it for this game. Even though I'd never used a controller on a PC before, I always felt like the interface of ME2 would have worked better with a controller. Rant rant, whinge.

On another note that's "completely" unrelated, I laughed at the message that came up when I was installing Origin saying EA will not tolerate any abuse of its staff. Gee, I wonder why they felt the need to put something like that out...

My only complaint about this game is the lack of controller support. Why should we have to be hunched over a keyboard and mouse to play the best version of this game? I'd rather sit back and enjoy it in comfort! I'm sure it would have taken some effort to make it work, but it's not like ME 3 came from an indie dev with no resources.

They can take the time to put in excessive kintect functions for the 360 when a 360 mic would have done but we can't get mic or controller support for pc even though we've been asking for it since ME1. I Love Bioware I really do, but thats just a slap in the face to pc users which may I remind Bioware is where their roots are. BTW I personal like the K&M I just think that with all the people asking since ME1 those users that DO want a controller on pc should be taken into consideration.

This one would really like to play this game, but it would prefer a refund at this point.

I originally played 1&2 on 360 and they are my all time favorite games. I figured I could get rid of my 360 because Mass Effect were the only games it was being used for. I purchased and installed this game not having any idea it wouldn't support a gamepad. Now it is a paper weight, and I am not happy.

1. K&m is great for run and gun 1PS where aiming is priority and precise character movement doesn't matter as much. However, an analog control stick is an absolute must for 3rd person action games and is more important than the precision of mouse aiming in a lot of peoples opinion.

2. Driving is back in this game, no? K&m driving has to be the most retarded gaming experience a person could have. Driving games suck with anything but a wheel and pedals, but since this is an action game with driving elements, a gamepad is the only logical conclusion.

I also have the same complaints as others such as wanting to run the game on a powerful machine yet not have to be hunched over a desk like some sort of mutant ape, both options should be available to those who want it.
Maybe if €A thought we'd pay extra in the form of DLC they would provide it.

Dear bioware, you will have to consider that since me1, the pc gaming market has changed.
A lot of people like me, is playing pc with an HTPC setup, making almost impossible to play with keyboard and mouse.
In fact, playing in the living room on a 50" hdtv from the sofà is really hard without a pad.
Please, don't tell me that a game like ME3 wasn't intended to be played on a big screen and with stunning implemented dolby digital audio, often not available on desktop setups.
As a lot of people would like to have the best possible experience with this gorgeous game, you can't punish them imposing keyboard/mouse only because is the better way to play on desktop setups.
You should support the always increasing HTPC users as well, we expect this from bioware.

Use Pinnacle Game Profiler. You can download and use it for free on a 30 day trial from here pinnaclegameprofiler.com/downloads After that you have to register it and it costs 20$

I have just downloaded and installed it and am using the profile as explained at pinnaclegameprofiler.com/forum/showthread.php and it works brilliantly. The controller layout is pretty much exactly the same as the xbox version of the game (or even identical - I'm not sure).

The keyboard and mouse play are unaffected when playing with the controller so you get the best of both worlds.

Even if you are not going to pay for Pinnacle I strongly recomend this. You can at least have 30 days controller usage.

I am going to pay after the 30 days as I doubt if I will have finished ME3 by then and I also am going to create a configuration to play Star Wars TOR as well.

It is pretty lame that there is no native support for gamepads in the game. However, in a way I am not that bothered now as this setup works excellently and I will now be able to play my older PC games and mmos like WoW etc using a controller and I would not have discovered how to do this otherwise.
