However the biggest insult is by then not doing anything about it, and if what I have read in this very thread is true that they have denied anyone from modding ME3 to be able to use a controller 'nicely' is just plain nasty. I do not claim to understand a fraction of what goes into producing a game the scale of ME3, but how hard can it be to release a patch or an update to allow native controller support?
This subject really has annoyed me greatly, and it seems I'm by not stretch of the imagination alone in this!

I am new to all this, so please I apologize if I am out there. I really enjoy Mass Effect 1-3 (I have it on PC, XBOX, and PS3) I purchased this program called the pinnacle game profiler for PC and I agree with a few people here PC is a way better platform for Mass Effect its totally awesome! I still play the game on multiconsoles, but I didnt have any trouble hooking up my controllers once I got the settings correct to my PC, also I did find even with a controller on the PC the game play was fairly the same as the consoles, so I prefer keyboard and mouse for perfection on PC still. Does anyone know how to get your controllers to be as responsive as the mouse and keyboard?
I'm sorry but emulators like pinnacle are trash for games like this, doesn't have ergonomic native UI that games like this should have for controller users

All message threads related to ME-3 are consigned strictly to that game's own forums. All tech support forums on the Social Site are closed, with any tech questions now directed to Answer HQ.chillgreg wrote...
The lack of official response just shows apathy from Bioware. I wonder what it would cost them in development and testing to add full gamepad functionality. Obviously too much for the massive customer satisfaction for the legion of existing fans/owners, and significant additional sales from people like me.

I grew up on PC gaming and it looks like a lot of work went into making the PC ports UI, but, boy do I hate playing this game with a keyboard and mouse... it just doesn't feel right. I really want to play it, but can't get into it without a controller. I should have just dusted off my 360... bleh.

I should have read this thread before buying it and all the DLC... I tried third party stuff to get it working, but it still just feels wrong and doesn't work.

Those framerates are precisely the reason I don't want to play it on the PS3/360. I'm so very tempted to buy it on one of those platforms, but I don't want to regret the framerate and visuals. And I find it sad that I have to compromise input for graphic fidelity and smooth gameplay.
I would greatly appreciate if Bioware went back, and patched in controller support to the franchise as a whole. I may have even bought the trilogy again, after owning all three, if it had been released with controller support on PC (though that would probably backfire with the community).
We know they have the code for it, it can not take more than a days work to patch it back in. A different executable that supports ONLY gamepad would be fine by me, create a launcher that references the gamepad and standard executable and should be done. I may be trivializing it, and I haven't looked terribly deep into how much controller code is in the PC version but I recall the first game having some references at least.
I doubt anyone at Bioware reads these forums closely, that could make a difference here or fully explain why it's been denied. The only explanation I can logically come to is someone at EA likes that they're different and knows there are people that will buy both. I hate to believe in that cynicism, but EA's got a reputation for such things (earned or demonized?).
What I would give to talk to someone within either company that could explain the reason it's not in the game.

They find if more comfortable, carpal tunnel, personal preference. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate your and Bioware prejudice against the disabled but I'm not sure that is a good reason to not put in controller support.Inserach wrote...
why would anyone want to use a controller on a PC, I would only for racing games

I too shared this cynicism, yet most of EA's big franchises support controller's.
It's not a case of myself playing PC so I can use a keyboard and mouse, it is for getting performance that isn't mind-boggling dire in 2013

If that's the case why release it for consoles and continue to make DLC for the game? Patches? OR even release it on PC or make the effort to dev the game entirely? No regard for anyone, only interested in the cash. What if people have arthritis in their arms so can't keep them constantly extended in the same position? It's a lame/poor excuse and frankly it's pathetic given how much actual time they get. They may have set release dates granted, they can always be understandable knocked back if you're "stretched thin" this is a poor response, very poor.
