You still haven't explained yourself. What elements of the 2006 movie The Prestige were present within this Tales from the Crypt you mention. Funnily enough the movie was actually based on a book of the same name, but it was a very loose adaptation where the movie captured elements of originality that the book didn't possess, namely that in the book the two Bordens weren't actually identical twins but duplicates just like Angier. And there in lies what largely makes the film so original. A story about two identical twins who truly lived their magic trick by sharing the same life and fooling the world into believing that they were collectively the same person.

Autolycus, I'm not sure if you're being entirely serious but if you genuinely believe that you've somehow outdebated me I hope to God that you're not LOL!

To me jrpg fanboys are somewhere between the lines of weeaboos and furries. No matter how "hardcore" they claim their games to be...

The topic of JRPGs seems to be a very sensitive one for the majority of Bioware fans. The moment somebody critisices their favorite series, whilst referencing numerous works of Western origin in a positive light, it's JRPG this and Weaboo that. I'm not sure where this insecurity stems form but I'd imagine it has something to do with penis size.

Then answer my questions and points then. You're failure only shows the people on the thread your real lack of logic and understanding.

But again, that could just be an 'opinion' too :)

There isn't really much to be said.

I explain in precise wording what exactly about Memento's premise makes it original and you come along saying "NO YOU" and proceeding to disagree with me without in any way providing an argument. Saying that Memento's premise is just the same generic murder mystery stuff, without providing a single example that mirrors it, let alone establishing it as the norm, is not an argument, it is an unsupported assertion.

I explain precisely what makes Memento's structure original, and you respond by saying "NO YOU" and claim that it is not original by providing an example of something "similar" to it.

You then go on to distort what I'm saying with regards to the Sammy Jankis scenario and the manner in which Leanord manipulates himself into going after the wrong guy, and soon afterwards are boasting about how you outsmarted me lol.

Please.

It really isn't something I need to respond to. My argument stands by its own merits as it is and your counter comments have been entirely worthless in discrediting it.

I somehow doubt that you even understood Mulholland Dr. or Lost Highway, let alone be in a position to dictate which one was the superior film.

LOL

So, now it would seem, you can't even answer questions regarding things you yourself said.

Well, that really does pretty much sum you up...

Btw, I think I hear the IMDB boards calling you back.

Excuse you?

The correct English for that statement would actually be 'Excuse me'...to be pedantic again.

But having said all that, it's plainly obvious that we are not even close to being near the same intelligence level, and that you really do appear to be incapable of answering my points, and that your refusal to accept that your points are nothing more than opinion, or your lack of basic understanding and comprehension of this fact quite frankly makes me pity you.

And on that, as a winner always knows when it's time to quit, I'm going to leave you to your opinions and quietly forget about this thread.

Good evening.

Lmao @ the whole penis size spiel. You had to resort to a desperate assumption. A seemingly hypocritical one at that. That's a swing and a miss, buddy.

Firstly I would I would like to point out that I am a fan of both Mass Effect AND Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy used to be an amazing series, in fact up until FF IX I loved and completed every single one. Then I played X, one that is often said to be a great game. It was the first FF game I didn't like, Tidus IMO was a terrible character and the first main character I didn't care if he lived or died. Then apart from the FF tactics series the next few X-2, XI, XII were not as good story-wise or character-wise. I actually think that since IX the best turn based rpg I played was Lost Odyssey which had a great story and characters.

The Mass Effect games are said to have a great story, because while not original it features several plots that are woven well and make a great world for the story. Apart from the End boss of ME2 I loved both games.

But at the end of the day regardless what myself or anyone else thinks, it is down to personal opinion.

Whether a game is good, bad, average, amazing, rubbish  will differ from person to person.

There are many games that I like and many I don't. But that is right for me. Someone else might like the games I hate and hate the ones I like.

Halo is a prime example, it is one of the most popular games on the X-box and is said repeatedly to be a great game. Personally I think it was overated, yet I know a lot of people who love the series and think its an amazing.

I know I will buy Mass Effect 3 when it comes out, yet I have not tried Final Fantasy XIII yet as apart from the tactics series, the FF games haven't been as good imo as the first nine games.

However that is just my opinion.

I'm going to invoke Goodwin's Law and just say this:

@OP

and yet, you went through the trouble of creating a bioware social network profile, and registered a game you consider subpar? just to say that anybody who is very invested in the story has bad taste? hmm... interesting....

Too much fighting and off-topic bickering and name-calling.

End of line.
