At least the skimpy-looking ones, but... what is a desire demon without that? Posted Image

They look pretty much the same in Legends, so I assume they're out here if there's no mention of partial nudity.

No more partial nudity? Damn, the game really has become way to action/violence orientated.

Oh well, at least The Witcher 2 will have these kinds of maturity in their game, and lucky enough it will come out soon as well.

Nudity does not equal maturity.

Yes cause not showing nudity is a sign that the company is not all intimidaded by censoring orginizations and is just editing it cause they make a point....sure.

That still has nothing to do with maturity.

I would say showing two people in bed fully clothed post-sex displays a certain degree of immaturity or silliness towards th subject.

Y'know, I'd love to see the cinematic designers work on the sex scenes; one wonders what awkward faces they make.

The DAO scenes? GOOD? hahahahahaha! those were the worst romance scenes I've ever seen in a game...I honestly prefer some of ME2's scenes to those...

I'll reserve judgement until I see how the game itself depicts everything, but over censorship in video games is a problem definitely. Nudity by itself doesn't equal maturity (and I have no idea if TW2 will approach it differently but the sex cards or whatever from TW could hardly be called mature), but 'watering down' (for want of a better term) a romantic scene or similar due to conditions in the industry is sad to see.

A scene should contain as much nudity as is fitting for the title and it's age certificate, generally remaining tasteful. At the very least I just wish an 18 rated video game was the equivalent of an 18 rated film.

Edit: I actually didn't mind some of ME2's romance cut scenes (I hestitate to call them 'sex' scenes because a good number of them weren't anything of the sort), but they were quite hit and miss and perhaps not what a good portion of players were expecting as the culmination of their romantic endeavors.

Silly I would agree with, but not immature, the scenes were handled just fine IMO other than that.

I see some folks are speculating that the ESRB write up for Origins was actually referring to the Broodmother and not the Desire Demons. No idea if that's the case but they make the point that the Lady of the Forest also had partial nudity (similar to the DD), but the write up refers to one specific case or something. Again, I'll probably wait to see what's in the game itself before dwelling too much on what this means about the cut scenes and desire demons etc.

I suggest a new signiture..."Not forgotten" showing a picture of a desire demon and the years 2009-2011.

Desire demons made perfect sense in game? They were cut because some person could get excited by looking at them?

"although said in middle-earth-esque English accents, they come off a lot more sophisticated."

Stereotypes ftw.

What is sad kylecouch is that that particular scenario is what I think has led to the rediculousness of the ESRB rating system.

People buy games regardless of the ratings and then complain when said games have mature themes.Posted Image
If it says mature on the back, why buy it for a child?
Example, my neighbors younger brother (age 10) was given Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for his birthday. His mother then complained to the developers on the forums because said game featured gunplay and death. Posted Image
The kid is ten, she bought a game called "modern warefare" and she complained that the game had gunfights in it...

Don't the cover of the game have a Marine holding a MACHINE GUN on it? even if not...it's called Modern WARFARE...I swear it's irresponsible parents that lead to crap like this...

And I'm grateful they didn't put explicit sexual content into it. For me, the ideal thing would be how Mass Effect 1 handled the cutscenes, but that got a lot of criticism...

Actually it got very little criticism.  What got criticism was a lot of content that was never in the game.  In fact, when one of the ciritics of said content saw what was actually in the game, she retracted her statement saying, "[I've] seen episodes of Lost that are more sexually explicit."

The ESRB are overpower F**KTARDS! They keep think and they really shouldn't since they always over think! Oooooh Demon boobs nothing I haven't seen in a PG-13 movie now and days

BioWare needs to stop trying to be on the Good side of the ESRB because they will end up losing fans

You folks are really reading quite a bit into an ESRB rating. I'd suggest waiting until the product's out and you've actually seen the stuff you're complaining about before declaring that we've sold our souls to the censors.

Though, you know, the overreaction and claims of bowing to pressure are cool too. You know. Your choice.

I saw "kneeling down in front of," and I immediately got excited. Thought they were talking about Lady Hawke and Varric. Then I read on. Hopes = dashed.

You guys haven't sold your souls to the censors...only rented your souls to them, that's a big difference Posted Image.

certain Forumites are gonna dislike any changes...I personally am one such forumite. no offense to any of you guys, but Haters gonna hate and whatnot.

EDIT: happy Count...grumble, grumble, grumble. Posted Image
Just because I say an ambiguous noun such as forumites does not mean you have to take it personally.Posted Image

Really? That's interesting, cause I'm not disliking anything. It's just that people who are pleased about something usually aren't as vocal about it.
