Well she was under the influence. Anyways can't rely on ESRB and their rating to tell you what the game has or does not have.

So this ESRB thing is no big deal right now...yes they hear about every "major" issue.

You folks are really reading quite a bit into an ESRB rating. I'd suggest waiting until the product's out and you've actually seen the stuff you're complaining about before declaring that we've sold our souls to the censors.
Though, you know, the overreaction and claims of bowing to pressure are cool too. You know. Your choice.
In my mind BioWare never bowed to the ESRB but only is trying to stay on their good side, and their games are slowly turning into want the ESRB wants games to be.
In ME the sex scene was considered too much so in ME2 they dumd it down, Now demon boobs are too much so now they are covering them. If they keep this up they might end up taking out the blood of their games, then take out having a romance, ETC.
If bioware was following the ESRB all that wouldn't be in their games from the start but if they keep trying to stay on ESRB's or even the public's good side (Fox news) then their games will slowly get hurt and then the fans will end up leaving.

ESRB doesn't work like that. Its simply a guideline for parents. They review the content of the game and then rate it. Yes lets use the slippery slope as what COULD happen please.

You can't remove Desire Spirits from the game. They're an interesting and vital part of the Dragon Age experience.

Nah, the movers and shakers of the industry are developers like Rockstar and CDProjekt Red, who see games as more of an art form, than just fun media.

During the course of the game, characters sometimes engage in sexual dialogue (e.g., "Sailing is like sex. Do it wrong, and it'll make you sick.").
I'm liking Isabela more with every day that passes.

Well I suppose it makes sense. Bioware isn't really about pushing the medium forward. They just want to make entertaining games, without stepping on anyone's toes. I can't really blame them for taking the easy way out, especially when games are a multi-million dollar industry. It's a logical decision to play it safe and toe the line.

I was thinking mainly developers, but you're definately right about them. It was a big risk with a game like Heavy Rain. Glad to see it paid off for them.

Yes, because a game with a smex trading card game is the manifestation of true artistry.
Oh BioWare! you cannot compete with the greatness that is CD Projekt!
CJ Projekt is so brilliant that the head of the studio wrote an article about how Steam is evil because he didn't know how to use it...

I'm hoping that Desire Demons like everything else is be redesigned and not removed[edit: which looks like it is, damn you distracting super bowl]. I'm not upset about the lack of nudity/sexuality as I didn't see it as adding anything to play experience. More often than not most games have nudity for no understandable reason.
In terms of other developers as having a better handle on it, rockstar really uses it for shock value and only one usage in recent years actually made sense ( GTA IV" Lost and the Damned). CD Projekt makes nudity kinda creepy with sleeping with women becoming a collectible game.

I'm not referring to the cards (which I always found amusing, if a bit tasteless). When I mention CD Projekt I refer to their stories and the scenarios they put you in. I don't think I need to repeat how the Witchers choices and consequences were far more involving and in depth than anything Bioware's done in the last decade. It's been said better by others so you're better off looking for them.
I'm not sure what you're talking about in the end though. The only thing I could find in regards to their CEO and steam was an article about how he had internet troubles with it and felt that if gamers bought a game, they should own it without extra hassle (http://www.escapistm...-To-Go-DRM-Free)
So..... what was your point again?

I see some folks are speculating that the ESRB write up for Origins was actually referring to the Broodmother and not the Desire Demons. No idea if that's the case but they make the point that the Lady of the Forest also had partial nudity (similar to the DD), but the write up refers to one specific case or something. Again, I'll probably wait to see what's in the game itself before dwelling too much on what this means about the cut scenes and desire demons etc.
I would tentatively agree with speculation that it was the broodmother being referred to, since she's the only one in the original game-there are quite a few DDs and demons with that model.
I think what might make the difference and remove the need for a specific mention in the cases of the Lady and the Desire Demons is that in both cases the nipples are covered, ridiculously small difference as that may be. The double standard about chest exposure seems to apply most specifically (though obviously not only) to nipple exposure, if TvTropes is to be believed in any case...
