I mean Humanity does have its fair share of scum after all, we do know that there are human pirates aplenty out there and that many of them probably have no love lost for the batarians. Would it be odd if there were a lot of them hounding the batarians just as they hound humanity? Some of them may even be backed by the alliance as privateers (very common during the peak of colonial warfare in the 16th-18th century)
any thoughts?

Human Slavers in general? For sure. Human Slavers that hunts batarians? Hmm... dunno, it's possible, but in general slavery is legal for batarians and so I suppose that they have enough legaly acquirable slaves of their own kind. The slaves traffic seems to be mostly centered on other species probably because of that: you can easily have a batarian slave, but if you look for a human, an asari or a quarian slave you'll have to go to the black market.
