MMO is MMO. we must not fuse them with the solo RPG. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

hahahaha....just how much do know about TOR sir?...for god sake they giving us HK-47 and the Fate of Darth Revan. Not to mention every single class's story is very in depth and intertwined in the universes lore....seriously...you would be foolish to dismiss that game simply due to MMO statues.

Jaded?  I don't think I'm jaded.

I don't like several of the changes (dialogue wheel, paraphrase, ninja-rogues and warp-speed warriors, as the main culprits).  I feel like we have a lot less information than there was for Origins and Awakening at this point, and that bothers me.

But, I've pre-ordered the game, and yes, I intend to play it (not 8 times in the first week, sorry.  Unlikely it'll be 8 times overall).  I am interested to see how the game goes.

So, not jaded.  But not on the edge-of-my-seat excited, either.

I sincerely despise Bethesda games

now with that in mind I am totally looking forward to DA2, my Bioware-Pre-Release routine is in place and I am good to go

I am very excited about this game, my wife got me origins when it first came out and we both really enjoyed that one. The fact that there have been some changes between then and now didn't really discourage me from preordering the SE, didn't encourage me to do so either. Hopefully the changes will make the game even more enjoyable, if not I am sure I will still love it.

I have somewhat low expectations but I think it's better that than be revved and disappointed.

I'm apprehensive, not jaded. Two different things.

Just because I'm not 100% optimistic doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to it, I am. Until more information is released all I can do is speculate, hence my apprehension.

Do you fully understand the definition of jaded, because it makes no sense to call fans that happen to be disappointed at some changes? That being said I actually support whole heartedly all the changes to the game.

I mean ya its diffrent, but its not called Dragon age: orgins 2

On the other hand, it wasn't called Thedas: Introductions either.

I was expecting a long lasting plot about the Dragon Age ... I personally didn't find the climax in DA:O terribly satisfying, so a continuing plot would have been nice.

Its still the same fun dialouge

Wheel.

combat

Character centered camera (I wouldn't have minded if they made the combat third person and twitchy, "like god of war but", but to combine mostly non reactive combat with a party without a tactical camera is just a sucky combination).

exploration

Maybe.

People will naturally have reservations about DA2 until they've had a chance to try it out. At that point they'll either come to the conclusion that it's still Dragon Age they loved, or accept that it's not really their thing anymore and move on.

Until then all they have to go by are a few gameplay vids and the devs word, which may or may not be enough for some.

How is the combat non-reactive? Have you not seen any gameplay videos? And the camera looks fine, too. It's far back enough to give you a good view of the battlefield.

And what does it matter if the dialogue system is the wheel now? Characters should still be fun and interesting and a voiced PC should only add to that.

I want this game now! Almost everything I had to complain about from the origianl DAO intallment has been improved on. From the last gen graphics {no offense} to the new gamplay mechanics. Im also stoked about the new conversation system borrowed from it's sci-fy bro Mass Effect. Cant wait to have my main character actually voice their opinion this time around. While DAO was a terriffic game, this one in my mind in going to be better by a long shot!

Its still the same fun dialouge, combat and exsploration we all love but with a prettier skin and some changes to keep it fresh two years later.
So, as a fellow DA fan boy i ask you all to take a breath, put your fanboyism aside for two seconds and relise you all have already pre-ordered a month ago and are going to play threw it 8 times in the first week it's released and just enjoy the hype and the game for what it is, a sequal. Not an exspansion!

Y'know, a response to this would demand yet another explanation of why the addition of a dialogue wheel and a voice acted PC is no trivial change or why the new GUI and graphic style make my eyes hurt and is not even slightly pretty to me, but you must know that. And I'm not going to repeat it again when it's all been said over and over and over.

You've read the forum. You must have read all the arguments on both sides, some valid, some not, but clearly demonstrating that people have their reasons for their opinions whether you agree or not. So what is the point of this thread other than to dismiss a differing point of view?  Lots of us haven't preordered, and while I hope I'll want to play it more than once, I have no idea if I will.  Perhaps you should take a deep breath and realize that we don't all share a hive mind.

The graphics look worse than in DA:O...

Stop. Please. This utter non-sense has gone on long enough. Neither the art, cinematics, nor even the overhead field view look anything remotely APPROACHING "worse" than DA:O. To clarify, I think DA:O's graphics were good. When compared to the majority of games on the market it did better than most. DA2 does even better with that. Yes, we have seen some 'not so great' images, these are the result of both poor reporting, (reviewers not revealing the graphical settings and capabilities of the PCs they played on, and/or the percentage of 'completedness' the game was at), and Bioware rushing to get info and images out to its ridiculously information hungry fan base, of which I am a greatful member. To clarify further, why take an outdated graphical image taken on a PC of suspect graphical capabilities and hold it up as an example, when clearly there are newer images taken on what are clearly more powerful graphically inclined PCs? In short, there are many valid arguments and concerns about DA2, "the graphics" are no longer one of those.

I feel the same way as you do.*

But your thread is a tad insulting to people who aren't thrilled about every change. This doesn't make them 'jaded' or difficult. It simply means they have different tastes than you do.

*Other than I'm not excited.

With giants like The Witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and Deus Ex: Human Revolution I'm pretty sure that NO critic will give DA2 even one award
