The cannon choice on PS3 is that she's dead?

That's silly... this means paragon players are still forced to have commited a pretty bad action in their storyline. Even as a Renegade player; killing off people is among the most radical stuff (hitting/threatening being most of what I've seen as renegade) that you can do.

I thought she just didn't exist on the PS3 comic. Same with Feros. (Ah yes, the "Cipher." It was unnecessary.)

I never saw Shiala becoming a squadmate as something likely to happen, but her side mission in ME2 implies that there is more to her story, or at least the colony's story. Another side mission in ME3?

Doesn't exist, dead, same thing in terms of what I mean.

Not necessarily. You can also choose to kill in her ME 1. That means she doesn't exist in ME 2. If you killed anyone in ME 2, they won't appear in ME 3.

I'm thinking ME 3 will have optional squadmembers. People that want to join Shepard and people that want to fight for their own governments (Asari, turian, etc."

She won't be playable, that's for sure. There is a shot at another small cameo.

Yeah, probably not gonna happen.

She never piqued my interest anyway, no offense.

Sigh. Bioware will never let us have an asari who isn't named liara tsoni :(

I'd say there is little change for Aria at least, pretty much no one else unless there will be new asari character introduced in ME3... Well which is also kinda unlikely.

Both Shiala and Kal are very unlikely to become squaddies because they may die in ME1 and ME2, respectively, and Bioware has enough to worry about with ME2 squaddies as they are. Unless their deaths are disregarded, of course.

I sincerely doubt that any characters who had the possibility of dying in ME1 or ME2 will be squad members.

I was going to say the same thing, but I assume they mean as a romance, as Shiala does indictae an interest in you should she survive through to Mass Effect 2.

Actually Feros IS mentioned in the PS3 version of ME2 because 'random' colonist still appears just as they do for 'Default' Shep on PC/360. But most likely Shiala is dead as dead can be in this instance because 'Default' Shep will have killed her just like they did Rana, Wrex and the Alien Council. Possible cameo in ME3 for PC/360 sure, just like she and Gianna (another missing person from 'Default' and PS3 Sheps playthroughs) was in ME2 but nothing more than that.

Actually, Samara IS a romance option. She's just not a primary, fully fledged one.

Shiala squaddie would be interesting... that is if some of the thorian's power remains with her...

+ she's dead in the PC cannon.

(what about xbox 360 cannon?)

She's not dead in PC cannon, she's dead if you use a default Shepard without transfering from ME 1.

Then again, most of the decisions used really, really suck if you don't transfer the save. It kinda forces you to play ME 1 to get the results you really want.

I find it really unfortunate that it seems this is the case. I don't know if it would have been a bad deal to let her live. My hope is they don't just kill her off in ME3. We'll find out later this year I guess.

They could just pull an Anders and say she's alive either way.
"Oh, hi there Shepard, after you shot me in the head, I didn't die because I'm half Thorian now. That hurt, by the way, a** hole."
