No spoilers. I'm just curious what is the best time to visit the citadel in Me2? After the dossiers or before? Or does it just not matter at all?

I like to visit it after having done Omega but it really doesn't matter. There's a quest involving a Quarian and a Volus that you should bring Tali along for but other than that no worries.

Thanks, so the answer is definitely after the dossiers.  You rock!

I wait until both loyalty missions involving the Citadel are unlocked and do 'em both in one shot. I do the same with Tuchanka.

I hit the Citadel first thing as soon as I unlock the Normandy SR-2. I figure it only makes sense that Shepard would try to head back to the Alliance/Council and fill them in before gallivanting off across the galaxy for Cerberus. Then I can get all the equipment I want from the shops, get reinstated as a Spectre and have the Alliance/Council's ineptitude thrown in my face before I make tracks for Omega.

You just want Tali for that one mission, which can be avoided on the first visit.  It is worth it to hit the Citadel before Horizon (which kicks in after the original batch of dossiers); the upgrades in the stores are useful.

Right before Thane and Garrus' Loyalty Missions. Might as well talk to the Council when you're in the neighborhood. Also makes the "Shepard Sightings" and "ZOMG You've been working for the enemy!" comments make sense.

I usually go after Omega but come back whenever I have enough money to buy new upgrades.

This is exactly what I do for exactly the same reasons.

The way I figure it, there should be a better than even chance that Shep will be taken into custody. However, my Shep in ME1 hated Cerberus through and through. He's a loyal Alliance Officer first and foremost. If he can deliver a better-than-replacement Normandy to the Alliance Fleet, deliver two top Cerberus operatives, cripple Cerberus by handing over the two things that they spent most of their resources on -- the ship and Shep -- that's a good day's work. Instead, the Alliance rejects Shep. Their mistake.

It's a good way to spit in TIM's eye right off the bat.

Shep also picks up Kasumi. When he/she also picks up Zaeed first-thing upon arriving on Omega, he's no longer dependent on Jacob and Miranda on missions.

Normally I go after Horizon, once I have the first lot of team members. On my most recent I waited until I had Tali so I could kick it old school with Garrus and Tali in my party.

I go at the beginning of the game, sometime later to recruit Kasumi, and then again for sidequests and Thane/Garrus' LMs, and maybe once more to stock up on upgrades. I like to imagine ME2 takes place in like a 6-month time span and visits to the citadel are not uncommon.

I usually go there after I'm done recruiting on Omega.

-Makes sense for my Shepard to contact the Council fairly soon to try and get access to their help and resources
-Stores have good upgrades
-Quite a lot of Paragon/Renegade points to grab
-Space Hamster

I recruit Mordin first because his recruitment is a priority, then I go to the Citadel to get my Spectre status back, and to recruit Kasumi.

You concentrate on assembling your crew along the way to the Citadel, but you get warned abou the events on Horizon by Illusive man (top priority). The dialog sounds better when talking with Anderson about Horizon

Hmmm... yeah, I must've missed my chance to become a Specter this time around. But I also beat the game this time (BTW, Sentinels are pretty damn useful! ^_^) The second time, I won't forget. =P
