Is there any good reason to choose Morinth over Samara?

They're both evenly matched in strength, so Morinth isn't bringing anything extra to the team, and Samara is already sworn to your service via her Oath (and will be doubly loyal once you help her complete her mission) whereas Morinth's motivations and loyalty are questionable at best. She's also proven herself to be a homocidal sociopath, and the Normandy only has room for one of those. *cough* You might as well bring a rabid varren aboard and expect it to behave itself.
It just seems like a completely unnecessary and nonsensical risk no matter which way I look at it.

I've never killed Samara, even on my renegade runs.

But perhaps if you kill Samara, the Asari find out about it somehow in ME3, and because Shepard purposefully contributed to the death of one of their justicars, they become rather reluctant to help out humanity against the Reapers? Just speculating...

Just for the sake of having dominate.

Dominate is a very fun and amusing power and is well worth it. I think you can unlock it then re-load and pick samara and it stays unlocked but I never verified this.
Also she has some dialog on the SR2 as well where she explains a bit about how she sees things.

Pretty much, at least for my renegade Shep. Mind you, I felt really, really bad about it since Samara is a very well-written and sympathetic character.SomeKindaEnigma wrote...
Just to be a complete and utter douche.... I believe.
Of course in terms of loyalty etc it doesn't really matter, since the aim of my renegade Shep is to get all but two of my squaddies killed in the final mission anyway.

Personally, would you want a serial killer who's made a 400 year practice of lying and manipulating an art form on your ship?

didn't Samara also swear to you that once her prior oath to you is discharged, she will kill you? (assuming you're playing a renegade) I figured that was a good enough reason to get rid of her before it comes to that and just figure out what to do about Morinth afterwards?
That's a very good reason to pick Morinth.

Morinth is romanceable unlike Samara.
As long as you don't mind an instant-death STD...

From a gameplay point of view: dominate is a cool, if somewhat limited power to play with. Group dominating collectors on a platform and watching three of them turn on Harbringer is hilarious. I always shout " ASSUMING CONTROL" when I do that to them.
But honestly I have only picked Morinth once in all my play throughs. I honestly believe she is one of those too dangerous to live type characters.

Or if you're naive and think Bio will let you 'Know' Samara.

Yes, it's only determined by having a higher renegade score than paragon. Which is kinda silly since Samara's code judges purely by actions and the game implements this... by supposed ideology. A predominantly paragon could make a choice (or choices) that violate the code and still get the "I'll come for you when you need me" speech. Shame.naledgeborn wrote...
When does Samara threaten to kill you? My Renegade meter is pretty high ~ 95% but my Paragon is at ~ 110% taking inflation into account. Do I have to be more Renegade than Paragon? She also says that were friends and that she'll come for me when I call assuming she survives the mission.
Anyway as for the topic, the conversation about Samara warning or commending Shepard only occurs after her loyalty mission, iirc, thus invalidating that as an excuse to pick Morinth. Shepard might be wary of Samara but won't have anything concrete at this point. Which is annoying because I wouldnt mind at least one game to import with Morinth in but I just can't rationalize it. Grr.

For me I don't like the idea of Space Vampires running around for another 600 years so for my Renegade playthrough I was going to kill them both. Kill Samara/replace Morinth, and have Morinth offed on the Suicide Mission. See, you can still be a hero!
