Is there any good reason to choose Morinth over Samara?

Dominate is the organic version of AI Hacking. It is cheesetastic to use and is insanely useful in the final mission since it can hit the collectors.

The dialogue nodes on Tuchanka when you're with Grunt or Mordin are quite funny. Dominate is a cool power too, and there's the tension of having a game ending death aboard the ship. She's on my RenShep save.

Samara never told my renegade Shepard that she would hunt me or kill me. I had a full renegade bar and the fancy eyes and scars to show for it, but Samara never threatened me or anything of the like.

Tbh, she was more or less her 'usual' self.

Maybe you need to do some specific actions for her to threaten you, and not just because you're a renegade...

It is actually a two part conversation. The first is when you recruit her and ask if she will follow your orders. The second is like the third private conversation with her on the she. You can ask her what she will do after the mission. If you are renegade she tells you that if you do not change your ways ( how do I lose renegade points?) her code will compele her to kill you. If you are paragon she says that your quest is worthy and she will stay till the end. If rengon she says she will go back to hunting ardot-yakshes.

didn't Samara also swear to you that once her prior oath to you is discharged, she will kill you? (assuming you're playing a renegade) I figured that was a good enough reason to get rid of her before it comes to that and just figure out what to do about Morinth afterwards?

Immediately ater she takes the Second Oath of Subsumation, she says "I should warn you that if you order me to do anything extremely dishonorable, I may have to kill you when this mission is over," or something like that.

I remember thinking at the time, "That would have been nice to know before you took that oath," and my Shep's an insufferable Paragon saint.

Anyway, I've never chosen Morith and never will. Bring her aboard the Normandy and Yeoman Chambers is a dead woman. (That's not actually in the game, but should be.)

She's a sociopath who has to "feed." My Shep's not going to leave somebody dead at every port the Normandy stops at.

Some people choose Morinth solely for Dominate, which is a fantastic when you and her both have it. It's fine on its own, but you can simultaneously send two groups into instant panic when you use it twice.

This is time when you can move up into closer cover, wait for your health or shields to regenerate, or you can just use it for fun. It even gives them an extra Biotic shield so that they last longer.

This is what I always get, she still says that if I call for her she'll come tough. I only got the first one on my femshep.

Just for the sake of having dominate.

^This

Dominate is a very fun and amusing power and is well worth it. I think you can unlock it then re-load and pick samara and it stays unlocked but I never verified this.

Also she has some dialog on the SR2 as well where she explains a bit about how she sees things.

You can pick her to unlock Dominate and then reload to keep Samara. The game doesn't care whether you keep Morinth or not, just whether you've ever made the decision to kill Samara or not. Plenty of people have done this, so it's a reliable solution.

Without Reave, Morinth is weaker than Samara anyway. Dominate works well enough on Sheppard that he/she doesn't need to keep Morinth around.

If you play renegade, Samara says that she's seen you do many things that would compel her to violence, were she not under oath, and that for the sake of your friendship, she hopes that she'll never see you again after the mission is over. She doesn't say anything about hunting you down, and she makes it clear that she doesn't want to harm you in any way.

In my opinion, killing her to recruit her bat**** insane death rapist daughter is still not justified, unless you're ridiculously paranoid, in which case...wouldn't having Death by Snu-Snu on board make it even worse?

Yeah, I don't really see "Samara might possibly come for Shepard at some point if he's a Renegade" as valid reasoning for siding with Morinth when it's basically a given that Morinth is going to be doing everything she can to dominate and kill you from the moment you bring her on board and may very well end up preying on other members of the crew as well.

Morinth is a more dangerous opponent than Samara. Samara is predictable and straightforward. Morinth is cunning, a quality her mother lacks, the fact that she has people believing anything that she spews out of her mouth is a testament to that. By choosing her a Renegade Shepard is essentially trading one enemy for a greater threat.

I really hate Samara, but I was never tried to pick Morinth... I guess the only cool thing about Morinth is that she can kill you? Far better than this moronic justicar... well Samara has her uses and I have no RPG reason to take her crazy daughter so, I stick with my justice-psycho...

...and I really hope Samara comes after me. She tried to kill Nihilus, lets see who will win our little dance.

I really wish more was done with the fight between Samara and Morinth to give you a reason to spare Morinth. They could've easily thrown a dialog in there where Morinth warns you that Samara will turn on you if you're a Renegade and Samara, compelled by her code, admits that when the mission is over she'll be forced to kill you but tries to convince you that aiding her in her fight against Morinth may be enough to redeem you. That would give a Renegade Shepard at least a valid reason to side with Morinth, if he didn't trust Samara.

Instead it's just "O hai! I'm a homocidal sociopathic space-vampire and I just tried to kill you a moment ago, but if you betray your loyal squadmate and help me for no raisin then I'll totally help you on that mission I don't even know about. You can totally not trust me not to try to kill you as soon as your back is turned."

@ "Morinth is more dangerous to you then Samara and Samara is not going to hunt you down" people.

maybe that's exactly the point? Shep can be an adrenaline junkie. outwitting Morinth, keeping her at bay from yourself and the crew could have that added thrill, that Shepard craves. depends on how you RP your Shepard really.

There is a spoiler forum OP. Use it. You're even registered so there's no excuse.

And honestly I'd say no.Samara is easily manipulated by her Code. Morinth on the other hand is just a psycho.

yep she did, when she agree to serve you, she said that if you forced her to do evil things, by the code when she will be freed of her oath, she will kill you Posted Image

It's all good, if you're strong enough to resist her in the recruitment mission, you're strong enough to survive sex too.  Morinth told me so.

You get Morinth and you can get infinite points for your skills. You get one point when you get Dominate so you can reassign your points and choose Dominate. Repeat until you have all the points you need/want. Just make sure you have a ton of Element Zero.

My reason, for my sole survivior Engineer, is because I want a ringer on my team that Ceburus does not know about that can give me the edge on taking down TIM.

Have you met anyone that told you how great sex is with her, yet?

Joker said she's really hot, if that's what you mean.
