The Council and the Alliance are The Powers That Be. Their main concern is to stay in power, not to be nice. It's a better, or at least more stable, alternative than the Terminus systems or a despotic single race empire though.

Same, I also think they can be absolutely ruthless as*holes as well. It just annoys me if someone holds them up as an example of ... paragons... within society (aka; they can do nothing wrong). Yes, I can think of two people on this board that seems to believe this is the case.

Vigil mentions how sovereign indoctinated many to hide his existance... the council is hellbent on refusing the existance of the reapers... seems a but suspicious.

Actually, no. They could have saved at least as many Drells as the "lesser race" of the Hanar did. Without risking a war or anything. But they didn't so much as move a finger. Some benevolence, my ass!

And this is how the Council treats the most trivial motions by the "lesser races": it quashes them. And proudly puts that on the official tour of the Citadel, so that everyone could know right away who is who.

Stop that!  Relativism is not allowed!  Clearly, only one viewpoint is right!

I think some people have decided to 'punish' Bioware for their perceived right to new content to alieviate their boredom and impatience for a new DLC or ME3. Same thing happened on the old board after a while before ME2.

It doesn't help that moderation seems to have slowed down a lot....

I wasn't part of the original forum. I joined about a year ago, right before ME2 was released. I was banned 4 times, that explains the date.

Sure she didn't. It could have made a bit too bad of an impression about the Council. But try the Hanar preacher. I think, he might tell you about the Saint Hundred, that choked of indigation to death, when some local Krogan "garrison" turned a shrine of the Enkindlers into a public WC.
