I'm just not thrilled that three of our companions are returning characters from DAII. And that, apparently, Anders is a two-in-one for past companions. It just seems overdone, especially when we've already had Wynne.



I really wanted new companions I could form new opinions about.

Also, I hope the spirit possessing him is the Justice we know... and that there's some Anders/Justice banter coming from the same body, like Kenny/Cartman from that one episode of South Park. XP

Ok, I completely understand your point, but do you really have a definitive opinion on Isabela and Merrill, who we barely got to interact with?

I'm just saying, if I judged some of the Origins companions by the first encounter with them, I'd have a VERY different opinion of them. Maybe the same can happen with Isabela and Merrill.

I agree, this has been a spoiler thread from the start so we've all been warned before coming in here about what to expect. (Although perhaps the OP should change the "spoilers" in the title to something more like "ZOMG SPOILERS SRSLY DON'T LOOK" )

That's what I'm guessing... Or the spirit of justice only pops up when Unjust Stuff happens around him and he has something to say about it.
Maybe there will be situations where Anders is talking and then suddenly winces and goes, "Not again!" and then out come the glowy eyes and Justice voice.

It certainly shall be strange romancing (?) him, with a third wheel constantly present.

Although Anders at least has an interesting twist. Merril and Isabella would have been enough though considering they were both such minor characters in DAO.

Three? I only see Merril and Anders, and Merril was hardly explored more than Isabela.

Three? I only see Merril and Anders, and Merril was hardly explored more than Isabela.

And thats 3. Merrill, Anders and Isabela. 4, counting... you know.

I don't see how you can't have an opinion on Isabela, if you completed her entire...er, side-quest. She had an obvious personality. You could have had a threesome with her. Or a foursome. That makes some opinions form. Merrill has less personality, so, when she was announced, I was a little disheartened (after all, why not just have a completely new character that you don't have to retcon the appearance of?), but it was fine. But now we have another...two, sort of...companion/s. They were full companions.

Any healing mage could have sufficed. I already have an opinion on Anders. Let's say I hated him. What then? My interactions will always be colored by my hatred of him. I can't form a new opinion. The way I experience the game as Hawke will be altered--I'll see Anders, Justice, Isabela, and Merrill through a filter of my Warden's eyes. But I'm not playing as the Warden. I have a new character.

Oh FFS Bioware, at this rate half the NPC's in the game will be cameos from origins.
