SPOILER ALERT****
It's one thing to have had Wynne and Kristoff/Justice join your party after their "transformation" but Anders is someone my Warden got to know quite well. I expect it will feel awkward to see a familiar face but not really "know" him, especially if it's Justice from DAA (which I kind of hope it's not).

I'm just not thrilled that three of our companions are returning characters from DAII. And that, apparently, Anders is a two-in-one for past companions. It just seems overdone, especially when we've already had Wynne.
I really wanted new companions I could form new opinions about.
Although Anders at least has an interesting twist. Merril and Isabella would have been enough though considering they were both such minor characters in DAO.
I was kinda hopeing the last companion would be a new character, and while I don't mind Anders I'm not so sure about this cross over between two characters, although I'm interested to see where it goes.....

Maybe there will be situations where Anders is talking and then suddenly winces and goes, "Not again!" and then out come the glowy eyes and Justice voice.
I wouldn’t mind this too much. It just seems an odd concept to me because their personalities could not be more different and perhaps had I not known Justice prior, it wouldn’t appear so creepy to me. I don’t want Anders to be Justice or vice versa, otherwise, why not just have Justice possess someone we didn’t know to begin with. That is why I am hoping it pans out like you just said. I could deal with that.

Justice was not his name. It was the type of spirit he was. There was a slew of Desire/Sloth/Rage Demons, why would Spirits of Justice be any different?

They were not major returning companions. It'd be like having two Oghrens.

Whatever. I'm curious if this is indeed the Spirit of Justice from Awakening or if its a new one? Or if Anders still has his personality or if they'll be pulling some multiple personality type shtick where its snarky Anders one second, then light up the blue eyes and booming voice for Justice?

No. Pride is a sort of Demon, not a name. The Spirits doesn't work the same way. Justice was uniqe in that way that he whanted to be active in helping people. I don't think there is a groupe of "Spirits of Justice" and "Spirits of Order" and "Spirits of Cooking" aso.Herr Uhl wrote...

Not to mention that there is actually someone who can make it clear as day to our supposed keeper companion the difference between spirits and demons.

Ok, I completely understand your point, but do you really have a definitive opinion on Isabela and Merrill, who we barely got to interact with?
I'm just saying, if I judged some of the Origins companions by the first encounter with them, I'd have a VERY different opinion of them. Maybe the same can happen with Isabela and Merrill.
I don't see how you can't have an opinion on Isabela, if you completed her entire...er, side-quest.![]()
Ok, I knew this was going to be brought up!
Seriously though, even if my warden did have a threesome with her, that's only a part of who she is. I still don't know anything else about her and I won't pass judgment on her character just for one wild romp. I suppose if you're the kind of person who's REALLY turned off by that sort of thing then yeah, I could see why it'd be hard for you to change your opinion.
On the other hand, I can see your argument as perfectly valid with Anders and Justice.

They work exactly the same way. They are the same thing, just embodiments of different things.Johnny Shepard wrote...

Edit: Justice took the name of Justice as he was the embodiment of said thing. Like how pride is an embodiment of Pride.

I'm fine with cameos and returning characters....when you're still playing as the returning PC. Tossing in old characters, even minor ones now in big roles, and coincidentally having those characters pull a 180, like "Janders" just begs the question: why not just make a new character?

Janders! Whaa..whhaaa....lol
I don't think BW writers would go that shticky route....they're way above that crap.

Spirits do not normally help the living, but they will come if summoned. So it remains to be seen if Anders summons the Justice or a Justice.Johnny Shepard wrote...

From the article I think it's a cohabitation thing considering you don't find out about it until after you've been traveling with him for a while.

I'm on the fence on this, tbh. I really do hope it's more like a Wynne situation than anything.
I'm not sure what to think about this yet. I need more information damn it!

Summon Justice? He's trapped on the mortal plane, Anders or Nathaniel asks him what he will do once Kristoff's body is too decomposed to inhabit and he didn't know. He didn't like the idea of inhabiting another body by choice, it's more then possible Anders offered him room and board, so to speak... /grin ..
And... Yay!!!!! Confirmed Anders, way too awesome!

Any healing mage could have sufficed. I already have an opinion on Anders. Let's say I hated him. What then? My interactions will always be colored by my hatred of him. I can't form a new opinion. The way I experience the game as Hawke will be altered--I'll see Anders, Justice, Isabela, and Merrill through a filter of my Warden's eyes. But I'm not playing as the Warden. I have a new character.
Really? Plenty of people who liked Oghren in Origins reformed their opinions in Awakening. Plenty of people disliked Zevran or Morrigan upon first meeting them and never explored them further in their first game, but had a change of heart on a second playthrough. I'm sorry if your opinion is fixed on a character forever and always, but this is a chance for a possible reboot with more depth and all I can suggest is at least giving it a chance.
