I wonder who the last of the companions we can pick up are? By every indication, they all come pretty early.

I think the order goes something like this:

Bethany/Carver > Varric > Aveline (possibly?) > Anders > Isabela

Not sure where Fenris, Merrill, and Sebastian fit into it yet though, but possibly after Isabela. Then there's the potential of a secret companion we should consider, who would likely be the very last.

My wild and crazy guess:

Bethany/Carver > Aveline > Varric > Sebastion > Anders > Merrill > Isabella > Fenris

My guess is,Anders is not a Grey Warden in DA2.He may have been given to the templars by the Grey Commander. Then he could just have escaped them.

Well seeing as how you upload the saves from Origins that should only be the case fi you actually gave him to the the templars.

Also just because he became a Grey Warden doesn't mean he has to stay with the other Grey Wardens all the time.

Or he could just have left the grey wardens.I mean Anders doesn't seem to stay much in place, does he ?

I think it's just the unfortunte side-effect of being told you're stuck in a tower for the rest of forever.
I'm wondering if this will hold true for relationships as well?

Not that I'm wondering about that! Because I'm not. Nope. Not at all.

In non-Anders-related news, that NPC dwarf guide sounds a heck of a lot like Steve Blum.

Varric?  That's Brian Bloom.  I can't believe the guy I used to watch in some soap opera is doing video game dwarves.  It sounds like he became a smoker.  (edit:  sounds really good, don't get me wrong) (2nd edit... I had to go look it up- Dusty Donovan from As The World Turns!  oy it takes me back)

It looks like Justice is Assuming Direct Control.

(Dr. Doctor said it first in the Fenris thread )

Is it bad that I've been thinking about this too? I actually thought it would be cool if should you romance Isabela or Anders (who seem like the relationship-shy types) and tried to get serious, they ended up leaving before one of the time skips, effectively 'ending' the relationship, and then reconciled with Hawke later. It'd be a change in the typical romance formula.

I think that might be Varric's older brother, whose name escapes me... If he's voiced by Steve Blum, I might die of happiness!

Relationships are going to be AAAWWWKWWWARD. But I cannot WAIT to see how Bioware deals with it if he's an LI.

(and of course, if he isn't an LI I'll be joining the exalted march on Bioware with my minion army)

Oh, and can we ask... Did DG write Anders this time around? And if so, did he write ALL of Anders, or just the... um... Anders bit?

Wow, we need a new pronoun here....

Varric?  Close.  Brian Bloom.  I can't believe the guy I used to watch in some soap opera is doing video game dwarves.  It sounds like he became a smoker.  (edit:  sounds really good, don't get me wrong)

No, the other guy. Or am I crazed? I thought most of that dialogue was not Varric but the other dwarf standing in front of the group.

[UPDATE: I AM CRAZED. It's clearly Varric. Carry on, everyone.]

You are incorrect, but you'll have to wait and see what the details are.

It seems pretty clear to me Justice saves Anders in the same way the Spirit of Faith saved Wynne.

Technically, it is a retcon. But not all retcons are bad. I think this one is rather clever.

I feel like we'll get Anders and Isabela around the same time.  There was one epilogue slide in Awakening that said Anders was "last seen on a pirate ship with a familiar woman" or something along those lines.

I personally love the idea of Anders and Isabela hanging out.

Yeah, that thought had occured to me. And it would be pretty cool. As long as he doesn't head for the hills and never come back. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie] Because that'd just be, you know. Cruel. I mean, I know David Gaider feeds on tears, but he must be sated sometime.

So if what I'm hearing is true my Favorite (well tied for) character from Awakening, Justice, has merged with my least favorite?

God damn it Bioware. Why must you do this to me?

Anyone else fans of DBZ or Buffy/Angel? I think I watched too much of them during my formative years and now believe that every character will eventually be brought back to life in everything, ever.

Anyway, if it's a "retcon" (wasn't really familiar with this term beforfe being on the forums), I guess lots of people do it. And it's a plot device I enjoy.

with him being possesed by a spirit does that mean he is like justice or does it mean that he still retains his usual charming personality?

Anders better not be a gray warden because I sent his mage ass packing back to the tower before he could join my ranks!!!
