Anyone else fans of DBZ or Buffy/Angel? I think I watched too much of them during my formative years and now believe that every character will eventually be brought back to life in everything, ever.

Anyway, if it's a "retcon" (wasn't really familiar with this term beforfe being on the forums), I guess lots of people do it. And it's a plot device I enjoy.

A retcon is retroactive continuity. It's not the same thing as bringing a dead guy back to life, but that's often how it's used. It's any time where the writer's set something in as canon, and the readers assume that it will stay canon--but, later, they want to change what happened, so they come up with a retroactive excuse to change the continuity.

In this case, despite a slide telling you Anders died, we find out he was instead possessed by Justice. It's like finding out the Avengers didn't really kill Dr Doom, but a Doombot. It was intended that they killed Doom, orginally, and this is what the readership assumed (or would assume, if Marvel didn't have a revolving door in heaven), but the writers wanted to use the character, so they changed it. Technically nothing has been altered in the canon, because that's what "always" happened.

If they just completely ignore something that happened, like pretending Anders never died, and never could die, that's different.

At this point any one of those could be. We know so little about any of them (aside from Anders) at this point that we really can't say which are LIs for anyone (aside from Isabela) until they tell us, really.

I don't see Anders as the M/M option, honestly. Probably because part of his 'dream' was to find a nice "girl", and the majority of his flirting was reserved for the women in the group. Not saying it can't happen, like I said, we can't rule anything out at the moment.

I happen to like this one but it's probably because I really wanted Justice in DA2. He and Anders felt like the most deserving characters for further development after DA:A.

Not much of a surprise that Anders is a companion. People have been speculating so for a while.

Anyway, I can think of worse of ways to change the story, in regards to Anders being possessed by Justice.

Considering the fact that I'm far more interested in Anders than Justice, I hope the idea of him being possessed came from the writers brainstorming on stories for Anders, rather than them wanting to bring Justice back and pulling Anders' name out of a hat.

So the rumours were true... not entirely surprised, to be honest. I had my doubts, what with the whole "left to the Templars" and "shot to the neck" fates he could endure, but seeing as how a "spirit of justice" has taken up resisdence within him, a resurrection or "rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated" scenario is not out of the question. (Weirdly enough, though, the one person I lost in my playthrough was Valenna in aher"could not find the body" scenario... go figure)

Could be a glitch. There was a similar glitch with Alistair in DA:O.



He's also only thus displayed interest in women.

He could still be the bi option though. Just seems like Fenris is more likely at this point.
