Anders, the light-hearted rebel mage from Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening, has changed. Urged by his friend Justice to fight the Circle of Magi more actively, Anders agreed to become Justice's human host… only to find that his anger at the Circle warped Justice into the demonic spirit of Vengeance. Now Anders must struggle mentally and physically to maintain his control over the demon within... at least long enough to see the Circle of Magi overturned forever.

oh, AWESOME. I was a little doubtful about Justice, but Vengeance? 100x more intriguing!

Holy Moley! THAT is definately goig to be extremely interesting to see and deal with. justice always did seem a little..extreem in Awakenings.

Demons and spirits are one and the same, really.  The fact that they can change was something of a new idea Justice was exploring already.

I cant wait to explore that, since it wasnt that far of a leap judging from his opinions in Awakening. Will definately add a layer of depth to Anders that people were worried wasnt there.

Right?! This whole week has been a calvacade of awesome, and this might be the cherry on top. 

Unless it goes tragic, in which case the BW writers will be able to live forever off of my tears alone.

Official/for real confirmation. ~! I've been hoping "Anders" was Anders so now I'm ttly psyched.

Vengeance. 0:! So intriguing. Omg, poor Anders. Poor Justice [my two favorite characters from Awa; I think this demands an Awa re-play]. It's so tragic, I want to hug them. >:'|

I'm trying to stop worrying and just be happy.  I don't want tragedy, and I don't want Anders to be changed so much he's unrecognizable.  Can't he be ThedasBatman *and* the Anders we knew and loved???

Okay, I just looked at his character page, and now I'm more worried than ever that we won't have our witty, smarmy mage back. Look at his concept, he looks so broken down, so depressed. I hope that concept sketch is not an indication of his new permanent personality.

Fenris, Sebastian, now Anders... So much angst. Can't we just have someone who's happy?

Hope we can restore Justice, he is/was a great character. Sad to think of him visiting the mortal world and getting himself corrupted

 I'm impressed by this update about Anders. Does that mean that the epic war in Thedas will be Chantry vs. Mages? This conflict is a huge part of Hawke's life because one of their family is always an apostate. And now Anders... Anders who's ready to fight for somebody's freedom? Interesting.

And I also think that there's more about the demon thing than that short article says. I think Anders doesn't really want Justice/Vengeance to leave him. If he wanted, he could've told his commander who knows how to send a mage into the Fade to kill the demon (our Warden did that with Connor). Perhaps Anders needs something from the spirit. Or maybe he still thinks Justice is his friend and hopes to solve the problem peacefully? You know Anders, he's such a softie.

Merrill: We need a sacrifice to send somebody into the Fade and kill the demon.
Anders: But I don't want to kill him! He's my friend!

 I reckon it's likely - there's been images of large scale mage vs templar battle in trailers, and wynne told us that the fraternities are becoming more polarised, with libertarians pushing for secession or even revolt from chantry oversite in the College of Enchanters (something which Anders actually expressed concern over, I think). Plus the Kirkwall Circle seems to be much more draconian and violent than, say, the Ferelden circle-could be a flashpoint for a revolution. Have to wait and see.
