Because the geth would never act to fight the Reapers on their own, despite the Reapers being just as much of a threat to them as everyone else.

The Reapers could enslave the Geth with another virus and in an entire day millions of Geth would be fighting for them. Besides the Geth could go Heretic on their own if they have another mathematical error. They are a real wild card.

"a sentient race should be Humanities slave army" is not evil?

No its sacrificing for the greater good. Its doing anything to beat the Reapers and save the galaxy and humanity. Its the ultimate renegade move.

The Geth could still come to the same conclusion that the Reapers are the key to their salvation.

The Geth didn't try to stop Sovereign, Saren or the Heretics. The Geth aren't emotion babsed like organics they use logic.

Hacking the Geth makes it highly more likely they will fight at your side

Yeah the geth could decide to stay neutral if the reapers made it clear they would not attack them because they are synthetic, lie or not it would not be logical for the Geth to choose certain doom by siding with the rest of the galaxy.

So could humans (coughCerberuscough).

They didn't realize the threat then.

Unless you fail. Which you will. And then you're screwed.

If we are given the option in ME3 I doubt we will fail, the developers would not make a renegade playthrough fail.

I have no doubt you'll defeat the Reapers. I very much doubt you'll do it by successfully enslaving the geth.

Cerberus sided with the Reapers in ME1Posted Image

They didn't realize the threat then.

Sovereign presented himself directly to the Geth and I'm sure he mentioned the thousands of Reapers just like him

Unless you fail. Which you will. And then you're screwed.

Its better than blind optimism and hope which could screw you over also.

They might in ME3, I feel.

Why? It wouldn't be necessary.

Its better than blind optimism and hope which could screw you over also.

I've never been blindly optimistic and thus screwed myself over yet.

Unless you are a developer I doubt you could say whether it will fail or not. Sorry but its really not up to you or any of us. Besides thats off topic this thread is a hypothetical about IF renegades had the option not if renegades will get the option. So please lets all stay on topic. And not turn this into a paragon v. renegade thread.

If you didn't want that, you wouldn't have used the words "paragon," "renegade," or anything similar.

I feel the Council is going to become indoctrinated

Enjoy.

Yes?

That's blind optimism

Calculated risks and educated optimism. I doubt I've succeeded through luck alone.

I give up. This has become a paragon v. renegade thread. There are forces I can't control.

Its all luck paragon and renegade.

Shepard s the luckiest SOB in the galaxy.

Releasing the Rachni Queen wasn't logic-based it was emotional based.

Saving the DA and killing SOvereign was optimism.  Shepard was in no position to properly give a sitrep on the invasion.

Destroying the CB was done because you know Bioware is going to let you win without itPosted Image

They're robots man. Legion's head flap expressions don't change that. I see nothing wrong with "enslaving" rebellious robots.

Not the SO, just the B.

Any guesses as to what might happen if you support Project Overlord and if Dano Xen' is able to fully conduct her research?

Xen is unsupportable in ME2 and will thus likely become a villain. Overlord is non-bridging DLC and the odds of it playing a major role seem low.

Daro'Xen has one of the sexiest voices out there. I don't think she'll be a villian. I actually understand her views on Geth.

She sends you an antagonistic and ominous email no matter what you do. She doesn't exactly scream "Friend" to me.

LOTSB is going to play a huge role.  I wouldn't be suprised if Project Overlord does also

I wonder if Cerberus would recruit Dano Xen to improve the chance of success with Project Overlord

If you try to stop Dano Xen than I'm sure she will become an antagonist. it only makes sense.Posted Image

In my dreams she does. LOL I'm just messing around, but I wish we could have sided with her in Tali's Loyalty mission.
