If you have to shoot a Husk, aim for the pelvis/legs, the moment they lose their footing, they die XD
Also, when a Husk runs towards you, you can do a melee before they reach you and stagger them, then aim for the lower body. They are only deadly if they surround you. XD
Ok, I see why Husks are bonkers on Insanity :)

Bah, those few husks aren't a real threat, neither in the first wave nor the second. The real killers are the paired scions in the first section, but there is a way to get rid of them - pick the right place to bunker down and use those pistols. (or assault rifles, if you have any) The place is in the left and behind of your starting position. Make sure you move to the right side "fortification" before they pass the platforms.
The real tricky part is the beginning after hacking the tower - there are only a handful of good defensive positions you can reach in time before the collectors appear. I've two favorites: one is right in front of you when you load and there's just enough time to order squadmates to hide there, while you go in a "corner" fortification just right of that. That gives great fire coverage and cover for you. Another (far worse IMO) place is right behind your starting position after save, order squadmates to take cover behind those two crates, while you stay further to the left. Main issue is that in this position, you can get flanked and the tower blocks a large chunk of the view.
That place is great though for the second wave to take down the husks - you're protected from collectors (they spawn far away) and can block or destroy them with a properly placed singularity.

@astralstorm unclear about your locations. Could you post a crude diagram to help visualize where you are talking about?

Have fun: HorizonGuide.png
Who needs heavy weapons when you can turn the battlefield against them.
Also, shockwave is fail, throw works better as coup-de-grace versus husks and singularity has better area coverage if you can spare the charge time.
Squadmates not recommended:
Jack - shockwave is slow and misses, pull is already covered and shotgun is wrong vs praetorian. No barrier stripping.
Jacob - incendiary ammo is useful, but rest as above.
Squadmates recommended:.
Grunt is highly recommended, his concussive shot and (preferably) squad incendiary ammo rip through collectors and husks.
Zaeed is very useful if loyal with his grenade and good guns, but getting him loyal with a low level adept is quite a challenge.
Garrus is a worse choice than the other two guys with AR.
Miranda's warp is very useful here, squad health boost is always welcome.
Kasumi's flashbang is very good vs all enemies - need her loyal for that - but after a shadow strike you have to order her back into position, which is annoying.
More edit: Forgot about Mordin - He's quite useful there, with either incinerate against armor or cryo blast against husks.
