How would you handle being betrayed?

They've been secretly reporting back to home base: Garrus to C-Sec or Palaven, Tali to the Flotilla, Mordin to STG, etc. Anger would ensue but since I've been working for Cerberus I really don't have a leg to stand on. I'd spy on me. Results in shouting match, followed by "look in a mirror" moment, and then "sorry let me buy you a beer."
Inadvertent betrayal, "loose lips sinking ships": Could be an outgrowth of the situation above, or just blabbing to the wrong person in an email. Stronger anger, especially if the crew or ship were endangered, but if caught beforehand or the guilty party comes forward, all will be forgiven if they promise to be more careful and buy ME a beer.
Sidonis-style "they were going to kill me, I had no choice": This would not fly with me, after all we've been through. For any of the squad to give up the rest of us because they were afraid to die? What have they been doing their entire stint on the Normandy? I'd see that as an attempt to weasel out of responsibility. Strong urge to kill would be there, which would be carried through if crew or ship were harmed. Then, buy beer for survivors.
Deliberate, unrepentant betrayal: Round up survivors, roast betrayer on spit over hot coals while drinking beer.
I'm thinking no matter what, beer would be involved...

Hopefully Kelly doesn't betray you then, that wouldn't be much of a punishment for her.EssenceEngine wrote...
I'd disarm and interrogate them extensively, if nothing then in order to find out whatever messed up reason made them shag a Varren.

Lets say one of your Squadmates betray you in ME3, they may have a reason of their own (since for money is unlikely given the situation) The scenario is that your shepard survived the betrayal and so did the Squadmate who betrayed you, how would your shep deal with them? Would they be merciful, would they airlock the traitor?
Depends who it is.
I'm already expecting it from Miranda. Putting myself into Shep's place, I'd put her into a shuttle somewhere in the Far Rim and let her deal. If she got really uppity, shoot her.
If it's someone closer - Garrus, Tali, Liara, Ashley - knock them senseless, take their weapons away, lock 'em in a derelict/disabled ship and talk to 'em from the Normandy as their air supply ran out.

Kaidan - shoot in face (maybe kick in nuts first)
Liara - shoot in face (multiple time)
Tali - Take off mask and cough in her face
Garrus - shoot in face
Miranda - shoot in face
Jacob - toss out airlock
Jack - shoot in face and then toss out airlock
Zaeed - shoot in face, toss out airlock
Mordin - Go "Why?" shoot in face, toss out airlock
Legion - Cry before throwing him into the trash compactor and tossing him in a volcano
Samara - Shoot in face, toss out airlock
Grunt - poison, shoot in face, toss out airlock, shoot at him with Normandy' guns to make sure he's dead.
Kasumi - shoot in face
Anyone else shoot in face and tossing them out the airlock.

This made me laugh thinking about how it would play outWizz wrote...
Paragon way.
- Disarm them.
- Heal them.
- Figure out why they betrayed me.
- Forgive them.
- Persuade them to repent.
- Hug them.
- Shoot them.

If it was anybody other than Grunt i'd keel haul them without a suit, if they survive all is forgiven.
So it's fine since it would be compleatly absurd for Grunt to betray Shepard given you did his loyality.

Second favorite option, gut shot them and leave them to a slow painful death.

If they are halfway competent about it, I'd probably be dead.
This. And if it it felt contrived and just there for shock value ala 'lets open the game by killing Shepard', I would be very unimpressed.

You'd have to do more than that with Zaeed, rage is a hell of an anesthetic.Tennessee88 wrote...

Depends on the situation. Like you said, no one is going to betray you because they can.
Generally, I'd give him/her a second chance because I'm a good person, maybe a little too good sometimes.

Let say for what ever reason you and your entire crew get captured by the Alliance/Turian/Salarian STG and they wanna convict your crew of treason/terrorist acts against the Citadel goverment. You walk down a long passage slowly going by your squad mates one by one wondering which one might have set it up so you could get caught so easily. Then you get taken into a interrogation room and told by a official that one of your crew/squadmate is willing to testify against you and if you just accept the charges they might be a chance to get a plea bargain.
That could set you up with so many cool choices lol.

If everyone made it I'd be pissed but not bloodthirsty. If however it was like what happened to Garrus' team then I'd definitely want revenge. I wouldn't be as nice though if I could help it. No painless shot to the head. I'd want to meet them in full on, one on one battle, and then put a round in their head after beating them down.

Out and out betrayal to the Reapers or a government for "treason" probably death, regardless of reason background or character involved. Really that's a game breaker.
Passing intel on my operations to TIM or any government without consulting me first-the remainder of the mission in the Brig.
Accidental betrayal causing harm or death-say like saying the wrong thing to the wrong person, a kneecapping followed by the expectation of the next bullet being in the head.
Accidental betrayal of the same kind not causing harm- a real stern talking to.

I agree with primero holodon it depends on who it is
If Grunt/Jack/Samara/Thane/Zaeed betrayed me, I'd kill them without a second thought because I know they'd have expected me to.
If Mordin/Legion/Miranda/Wrex betrayed me, I'd lock them up and question them, because they must have very interesting reasons.
If Garrus/Tali/Ashley/Jacob betrayed me, I'd sit down with them and talk. I'm sure they have good reasons.
If Liara betrayed me, I'd forgive her without a second thought - without her I would be Reaper goo.
If Kasumi betrayed me, I'd freak out. She's my Shepard's BFF!!
LOL. Ashley -- good reasons?
I'm an Ash guy, but she is pretty stupid.
