I restarted my tank warrior as I found out that freaking sucks, then got there as my offensive mage (which I found out the offensive spells are god awful), got further but now cannot get past anything.
The melee enemies have too much HP and damage
The Mages drain your mana and heal the others (although if you have 3 mages, its fun doing a mana drain battle)
The ranged enemies are strong vs range & magic and constantly bombard you with volleys and crippling shots.
On top of that, they get to go multiple times together while you rarely do.

I have determined that once you enter Planeasene Forest, that it is impossible to continue unless you pay money to get better gear or have like 15 "friends" that are above lvl 12.

I'm currently a level 14 mage, and I've never bought crowns nor do I have anywhere near 15 friends who are level 12 or above. Planasene forest is not impossible but it can be tough. Before the last wipe I had a 19th level summoner mage with mana drain and devoted all attribute points to agility. I was cruising with that character and only died 2 or 3 times due to getting killed before I had a chance to respond. Agility is very powerful both for defense and the extra attacks. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise, agility does give you extra attacks. I'm playing a pure stamina mage this time and the difference in the number of attacks I get is dramatic.
I'm playing a stamina mage this time to try and offset life drain attacks, but I'm taking way more damage than I did with my agility mage. I'm thinking the sweet spot may be stamina to 4 hearts and then everything else to agility or perhaps defense. The extra heart is important because attacks like life drain seem to ignore defenses.
Mana Drain may be the most important mage skill and I would recommend maxing it eventually and to get at least drain 2 by 12th level. The drakes are also incredibly powerful but cost 4 mana to cast. the heal skills are also useful.
I haven't played a fighter or rogue so I can't comment on them.
Pure attack mages are going to be frustrating to play without buying premium items. Sure, you'll hit hard, but you'll die all the time.
Having said all this, it would be nice if there was some way to get cash shop items without spending money. Perhaps give them a small chance of dropping, 1:1000 maybe, or allow them to be purchased with rediculous amounts of gold.

My offensive mage finally broke through the first quest and it's back to darkspawn enemies, but for both my mages I did stamina builds only to gain more energy (also health, but mainly for the energy). I guess once the game restarts I'll try the agility mage with a few stamina to get more energy as well. I got mana drain late as I was learning which spells to get and what not to.
My other mage is a summoner and I just unlocked the drake finally but the problem right now is...I ran out of potions xD so I need to work on that first before I can continue.
Maybe I was just ranting a little bit, but the difficulty between the first area to the forest goes up A LOT where you're like holy crap, why is this so hard!? I re-made my warrior into a rogue archer and it's cool now.
One question though, I don't quite understand mana drain lvl 2 or whatever. it says "drains every 3 lvls" I assumed that means it drains another +1 mana per 3 lvls I am. I was at lvl 9 and after getting lvl 2, I still drain one mana...so how does that work.
Next time, I'll go for Drake again and then get the mass paralyze spells and stick with rogue archer.
