My game has frozen three times already, and on the last time, my save got corrupted. Did the work around, played in 2 hour bursts, turned off the game, restarted.

last freeze happened on the way to Thane's mission. Since my PS3 stopped responding, I had to force turn it off

Turn it back on, the all of my saves are not recognized by the game.  Its on my PS3 (under the Game Data Utility), but the game can't recognize it., Both my playthroughs are "gone".

That was 15 hours of game time now gone
On top of the the 25 hours I had initially in that I didn't experience any freezing.

IS the patch going to fix the save game issue? If not, then please address this as soon as possible.

What patch? I'm beginning to doubt that a patch even exists. It does not take 2 weeks for Sony to approve a patch. It takes a few days and in certain circumstances a couple of hours. Someone somewhere isn't keeping their users informed accurately. I would assume that the patch they expected to be with Sony 2 weeks ago is still sat on someones PC at Bioware. I've cancelled my Dragon Age 2 pre-order as I cannot be bothered going through all this nonsense again.

Um, it does take weeks for patches to get approved.

1) the company has to create the patch (1-2 weeks - more if they catch more bugs, and showstoppers)

2) Its sent to Sony for approval and testing (1 week if you're lucky - 2 weeks if they caught anything else that is a showstopper)

3) Sony then has to put it into their schedule which can take 1 week as well

Patches don't create themselves and you don't want Sony implementing a patch that will cause more problems.

My only issue, is the freezing during the game (as its saving as that is what causes the corruption) and if the game data that was "corrupted" can be saved once the patch is released.

did you try deleting it and replacing it with your backup save?

Can't be bothered getting into a pi**ing contest with you but, Read Dead Redemption was patched within 4 days, Killzone 2 was patched within 1 day, Far Cry 2 was patched in a day. It depends on the severity of the issue and I would regard a file corruption bug as severe bordering game breaking issue.

It's not a pissing contest dude.

How severe were the issues with RDR and KZ2? Were they worse? (Don't know since I don't own those games, and could care less about them). How many programmers were taken off current projects for each title to get the patch created quickly? 10? 20? 100?

Or how simple was it for them? Could they have made the patch in just a day, and it had gone through QA at Sony a lot quicker since it fixed something minor?

YOU DON'T know. What the situation for those titles and companies may not be the same situation for Bioware.

Having gone through QA and submission for Sony before, I know how difficult it can be to get something patched and then submit for QA. And a Save corruption issue is major, so you don't want to submit a half-****created patch.

And most of the time, if a Patch was done that quickly, it meant that the game shipped with bugs (they knew about), and the company was already working on it to implement as quickly as possible at release (CoD anyone?)

And since my ORIGINAL Inquiry wasn't about the time/when the patch would be released, I don't know why you jumped in to say the patch isn't coming anytime soon. I didn't ask about when.

I asked:

IS the patch going to resolve the issue with CURRENT corrupted saves? Or the game not recognizing the save data already on the PS3?  Will it fix  the data?

^^ that's all I care about.

mine corrupted after only about 20 minutes, so the play in 2 hour periods is NOT a work around.  i was over 20 hours in as well.  what genius thought it would be a good idea to put ALL the saves in one file?

mine froze after completing the mission to recruit thane, between the report screen and the re-loading back to the CIC.  had to turn the ps3 off, ended up with corrupted save.  i had noticed that framerate seems to really stutter (and occassionally freeze briefly) during some autosave moments.

it's not so much the main missions that bother me and having to redo them, it's the fact i lost all that resource mining, and upgrading. i had enough resources i probably wouldn't have needed to do anymore to get any other upgrade i came across, and all the little incidental quests that i came across that have been done.   i had planned to get it completed before killzone3 comes out in two weeks, but now it could end up on the backburner..

do you need to backup one of the files in the save data folder?, because the game progress/settings is not copyable.

Im going to tell you all I know.

Bioware promised the new patch would fix the save corruption glitch along with other minor glitches. (Look at patch notes for details)

Now will the patch revive your corrupted data? Sadly, it is very unlikely. There is always a small chance but don´t get your hopes up.

Same here.
40 hours in and all progress is gone.
I have no backup save. I would have done so if a warning could have been included, I thought that having a rotation of 4 saves was enough, but the save system in this game is utterly useless.
Guys, can you make an application to generate a save file that could get me back to where I was. Maybe an online form that I could use to check certain boxes to confirm which agents i'd recruited and whether they were loyal or not, what guns I had, powers etc, then generated a downloadable save state.
It's really disappointed me, this game was the best game I've played since metal gear 3.

My game keeps freezing as I try to get back on the Normandy after Thane's loyalty mission, has Bioware made any mention as too when they will be getting this fixed?
