I'm playing infiltrator right now also, I'm usually a pure Soldier or Van.

I'm trying to figure out which would be a better bonus power , btw AP and WA , I leaning toward AP , most say WP , cause u have incinerate for armor but I think breaking barriers is easy without ammo assistance but the AP for that extra hit on armor is better to have while incinerate cools down

You need to look at how the ammo works in-depth. As an example, consider an enemy that has a barrier and armor. You fire one shot with the Widow. From what I can gather from these forums (and the "official" post about game mechanics), the game checks whether your ammo power applies or not to the top layer of protection. In this case that would be the barrier. So if you have Warp Ammo, it works. If you have AP Ammo, it does nothing at all. Even if your one shot punches through the barrier, you still get no bonus damage.

So for one-shotting people (and if I didn't misunderstand something), Warp Ammo seems better. Then together with Disruptor, you have something for every defense type.

If you are NOT going for one-shot kills or if you like to rely on shotguns (one blast counts as multiple shots), it's a different story. I think the bonus damage from Tungsten will ultimately add up to more than you get from Warp Ammo.

Depends if you plan on getting Incinerate. I didn't bother on my Hardcore Infiltrator (or AI Hacking). Its a great skill i won't deny it but does an Infiltrator really need it? Sniper rifles are strong vs Armour already and when you can go invisible and walk upto an enemy you really don't need to worry about them shooting you so the 'panic' effect goes out the window.

You do have a point with Barrier and ammo triggers but Barrier is definitely the last common defence type. Switching to Warp Ammo before Collector missions might be advisable but in general Armour Piercing would be the best. Plus you can just take Samara and deal with both Barriers and Armour.

I'm not planning to get Incinerate. I'm going for Heavy Disruptor, Heavy Warp and Squad Cryo. I know that I can switch between missions, but I prefer sticking to the same build all the time.

Generally the damage difference between Warp and AP is pretty small and doesn't matter that much. But I do want to be able to one-shot as many enemies as possible on insanity. There it does make a difference against Collectors or for example Eclipse mercs.

I also find myself using Disruptor a lot for sniping. I can ALMOST one-shot normal shielded mercs with the Mantis now, and I don't even have the headshot damage upgrade yet.

PS: I'm really quite surprised I enjoy sniping. Thought aim assist and time dilation would ruin it, but I guess the problem was mainly with Heightened Adrenaline Rush.

This is exactly correct.

My Femshep in ME1 was Infiltrator but idk, in ME2 it isn't the same kind of fun :(

I had her roll as Adept in the second playthrough as her.

I was the opposite, I tried playing as Infiltrator in ME1 , got all the way to the garage on Noveria and quit, it was so slow to me being a soldier or a vanguard player really, ME2 I thought it was going to be the same , I still played the same classes and this Jan decided to give it a try because all the ppl on the threads praise Inflitrator , and I like it so much I even gave sentinel , a try like it to so for me it goes
Soldier
Infiltrator
Vanguard
Sentinel

May even give the other 2 a try,ME2 Inf is just much more with the use of cloak compared to its ME1 counterpart.

Infiltrator was slow in ME1? That's not really true. They're up there with the soldiers when it comes to dealing damage. They even specialize in pistols, sadly the most powerful weapon in ME1. They also get Immunity just like soldiers. Because of their class abilities, they're (again sadly) even better at using tech attacks than engineers at the same time as being one of the best combat classes.

Anyway my Infiltrator has made it past Horizon now. Horizon was surprisingly one of the easiest missions so far because there's so much room to flank. The Locust is still a beast of an SMG/assault rifle, but I plan on using the Tempest for CQC when I get it. The Viper is... good, but I think the Widow is going to work better with cloak.

Maybe I just didn't give it enough time to build up my Ifl in ME1,but I'm surely enjoy the ME2 Inf.
