I'm just trying to figure out if it's only "some" of the players that are experiencing data corruption issues, I, for one, have not had one, and if there's enough people out there who can say they haven't had the issue, then we'll make gamers who are staying away from ME2 more confident about playing their game.

I've had two playthroughs with no problem whatsoever.
The corrupted save happened to me on my third playthrough.
I guess it's all about whether you are lucky or not. :/

Don't avoid Shadow Broker, it's by far the best DLC in the game. I didn't have any freezes during it either.

I didn't have any issues on my first playthrough but I've been playing offline to avoid al the Black Ops invites, I didn't even know about the issue! Then I joined this forum and am now paranoid on my second run.
I did have the rainbug last night during the Overlord missions and got very nervous.
Luck does seem to play quite a big part it would seem!

Some 60 hours and I'm on my first playthrough - did Shadow Broker ages ago. No corruption or freezes.

Currently working through my 5th playthrough, only issues I've had so far are the occasional freezes or the colour glitch some people have had. Done ShadowBroker 3 times now without incident. First playthrough of the whole game clocked in at the end (well for now) at 47 and half hours, done everything on that one, on 3rd playthrough I've done a 'Default' speedrun, just recruiting the main squadmates and doing no DLC or sidequest, that clocked in at about 15 hrs I think... might be less
When I saw this topic, I figured someone might jump on it asking why you had created it and considering one of the reasons why you did, I support it, because whilst I feel sorry for those having the corruption bug, the way some of them have been all 'doomsayer' about the game and in particular ShadowBroker it's a bit silly considering that I know there are numerous people who haven't had an issue. Considering there are work arounds for the corruption bug, people shouldn't be scared and should play the game

I've only experienced the colour glitch in the journal part of the menu, nothing else though. Still, I'm not risking any corruption that might occur, so I haven't played ME2 for the past 2 weeks, I'm waiting for this mythical patch that was apparently submitted for testing 2 weeks ago. ¬_¬

I finished my playthrough with one freeze... it happened when Samara and Morinth fought each other... anything else worked fine, I even finished the Shadowbroker without any problems. But I still took precautions of course. I quit the game every two hours and make a backup of my savefile, just in case... it still is annoying to get removed out of the atmosphere now and then.. Hope that my insanity playthrough goes as well :-/

UH OH! Maybe you should re-name this thread to the "Thread for Bioware sheep and apologists"
Knock on wood - I've completed 2 playthrus clocking in at around 40 hours each. Restarted religiously to avoid the corruption issue, and luckily I haven't encountered it. I only back up my save every time I turn off my PS3 just in case. Done the Shadow Broker mission twice with no issues.
Oh I've had other issues - audio outta sync, rainbow bugs, stuck to cover, Shepard popping out of cover, NG+ glitch... but these don't ruin the experience for me.
My hope is that everyone having just the corruption issues to get around can, and enjoy this game. I understanding complaining: the squeaky wheel gets the grease. But flailing around saying that the game is just fundamentally flawed for everyone doesn't help anything.

One playthrough - no freezes or corrupted saves, including LOTSB. One case of rainbow bug, once had to restart a mission when I got stuck on the scenery.
Fact is that by the time the game is patched most if not all early adopters will have clocked the game, and lots of players won't even be aware of the problems unless they have encountered them

Well, having experienced the corrupt save issue on my first Shepard has not kept me from playing. Got through a second game with no corruption and now I'm on my third Shepard 30 hours in. I am exiting every couple of hours and saving to a backup, but I just can't put this game down. I like living dangerously, hehe.

I am working on my Second Shepard with no problems, doing main quest only and saving most side missions for after i get Legion.
Only problems i ran into are the minor glitches and ones that have already been mentioned. No save game corruption.

Just finished LOTSB at about18 hours playtime without incident. Only had one freeze in all that time, which occurred on Haestrom as I went to bypass a safe. A reboot solved the issue. Fingers crossed for the remainder of my game...

I've gone 1 playthrough without any lockups or curropted savedata. Of course i do backup my file periodically just incase. Working on my 2nd playthrough on Insanity mode and still no lockups/save issues. But again been doing the workaround backing up my save file and letting the system cool down after playing after 2-3 missions.
Edit: Although i didn't do Shadow broker so far on either file yet.

My save data corruption occured on the visit to the derelict collector ship. At the finish of the mission I received the mission summary, and when I exited that, the load screen came up, and a couple minutes later, the system was locked up and required a reset. When I restarted, the save was gone, and I had to re-agree to the eula.
Since then, I have completed a playthrough of the game with saves and backups to a flash card about every hour and a half (what's 35 hours divided by 52 saves?) and only had a couple loadups to a black screen. That was about five minutes or so each save, but I wanted to have at least the one playthrough intact. Now I will try playing with just exiting to main menu, and will risk longer sessions between exiting the game and returning. I also know now which portions of the game seem to be riskier than the others, so I'll only do the backup to flash at those three or four points in the game where glitches showed up.

No corrupted data for me yet. However, I am getting freezing at a certain cutscene. I can't seem to get past that part because it freezes every time. But it's during the Shadow Broker mission. Go figure.

So far I have put at least 60 hours into this game and have not been affected by the corrupted save problem. However I did have a few freezes one of which occurred during the suicide mission. The screen went black and I had to pull out the ps3 power cord since the system wouldn't respond. I own the digital version.

I'm at 20 hours in the game, no freezes, no corruption, nothing. The ONLY thing that happens to me is that sometimes my shepard freezes in place and dies when the shield breaks. How do i backup my save? I plan on doing the shadow broken mission

Plug in a flashdrive and copy your character file on to it. Theres going to be 2 saves, just copy the one that isn't protected.
Oh and I suggest backing up your data as soon as possible cause the corruption could happen at any time, not just during shadow broker.

Finished the game once, doing all the DLC and sidequests. Now on my second playthrough and not a corrupted save, yet. Some freezes, tho - I mean, like three or four times, no more than that.
Religiously backing up my saves ever since reading about the bug, tho.

No problems here even with Shadow Broker, although Overlord had horrible texture issues on the outside.

I've played the game 4x now and have played all of the dlc just as many times. It's only frozen on me 2x and absolutely no corrupt save data. Besides the audio being out of sync during specific cut scenes, I've had no issues with Mass effect 2 with regards to technical issues.

I wish I understood programming well enough to figure out why there are so many discrepancies between people's experiences. Does it have to do with the order one does things in the game, what weapons, what class.... I'm curious what variables seperate those whove had corrupted saves and those who haven't.

I've experienced freezes, color glitches, bugs where I've fallen off the edge of a bridge, bugs where I've walked onto boxes and/or squad mates and became stuck, picture freezes where I hear audio, but NEVER have I run into a corrupted save file.
