It might also explain their sense of urgency in attacking now, i.e. they don't want the Citadel races to have time to figure out how to mount a defense. Perhaps they know that with sufficient tech and preparation such a defense IS  indeed possible, despite all their talk about "Your doom is inevitable! We are an avenging wind that will sweep through this galaxy...like......an avenging wind. An avenging wind full of hot air!"

Well Harbinger saw a supposedly secure location get attacked. A collector ship based on Reaper tech get shredded by a ship about 1/10th the size. A Proto Reaper get totally owned by 3 people on foot and ultimately had to run away with his "tail between his legs" or get vaporised. That's probably a huge shock to the Reapers who have been used to having it their own way for so long.

If things have come to the point they really have no choice but to move.

Techno-Turian to the Rescue!

TT: I am your opponent!'

More seriously, I'm going to have to go with "a whole bunch" of Reapers in existence. They lack complete surprise, but will probably prove formidable. I will go lie down now before more silly ideas get typed in.

It all makes sense now why Harbinger talks obessively over shepard lol.

But as for numbers of Reapers- Unknown. But if they are attacking Earth first, they obviously know the other races dont believe what the humans say. So when Anderson trys to get aid for Earth, the other Council members will be like "human dellusions again, why did we put them on the council again?"

The collector ship was patheticly weak. Based on its actual displacement, it had to rate much larger than any cruiser, but only sported normal Council tech cruiser level armament and shielding. It was massively undergunned and undershielded even for its size class let alone for a "reaper' ship.

If it wasn't for the prothean DNA and cut scenes of Harbinger that we only see out of character, I'd be wondering if the whole reaper connection wasn't just a hoax.

There was a posting over on TVTrope's Wild Mass Guessing page that quoted a posting from one of these forums. Something about the Council being fully aware and secretly preparing for the Reapers. THAT would be funny.

Shepard: :o
Turian Councillor: "Really, Shepard? You believed my 'Ah, yes' statement?!"

That would make a lot more sense. Obviously they have no reason to share anything with Shepard, he may for all they know be an agent for Cerberus but they can still make use of him.

Even if they are not directly preparing for the Reapers we see they are devoloping new weapons and countermeasures that could be used against them.

my guess is there are more than just the 50,000 years divided and all that math number of reapers. cause whenever they started they would have needed more than just one to do the job (this is all speculation) it just seems whenever they were created there would have needed to be a few more than just 1. could be wrong but just saying.

i would assume there numbers are more than the proposed 740.

I think the 300 ish in the cutscene is more than enough. Should see the mess a handful of them are making of London.

How tall is a Reaper anyway ? I got it to around 1 km using the London Eye as a known height.

Must have shrunk them so they would fit in London.

Hey, there was nothing funny about the 2km lenght. It's right there on the Codex.
"Sovereign is the flagship of the rogue Spectre Saren. An enormous dreadnought larger than any other ship in any known fleet, Sovereign is crewed with both geth and krogan. At two kilometers long, its spinal-mounted main gun is likely capable of penetrating another dreadnought's kinetic barriers with a single shot.
How Saren acquired this incredible warship is unknown. The prevailing opinion is that Sovereign is a geth construct, while others believe it is a Prothean relic. Its design, however, hints at a more alien and mysterious origin.
The attack on Eden Prime demonstrated Sovereign's ability to generate mass effect fields powerful enough to land on a planetary surface. This implies it has a massive element zero core, and the ability to generate staggering amounts of power."
http://masseffect.wi...ps_and_Vehicles
And whats so funny about me having feeling that 500 is about right?
You people can be so strange at times...
ALSO, "THERE WAS A HOLE" THAT NEEDED TO BE FILLED TO MAKE THE POST LONG ENOUGH TO WARRANT A SUBMIT FUNCTION, YOU THINK ITS EASY TO MAKE ORGANICS POST PROPAGANDA. HARBRINGER.
EDIT: Eezo! The Frigging Eezo is the key! somewhere there must be some calculations for eezo generation speed, or estimates. Reapers need eezo to function. Eezo regenspeed equals Reaper numbers!

Sovereign could have been more powerful than a standard Reaper. If you look at the cutscene, there are a few different shapes for Reaper outershells. There is no explanation for this, then again, there was no explanation for what was inside the shell(or even that it was a shell) prior to ME2.

I do know that the London Eye is 135m though and the Reaper was about 6-7 times taller than it was.

Don't know if Nazara was any different than other Reapers... Tough it would make HUMAN sense that it would be better equipped, and hence bigger than "average" Reaper. Being the lone scout. Or it could be smaller than average reaper, hence making it easier to remain undetected. Tough, BobSmith101? You said you got this info from a picture or a video? Hope you did some serious math on it. I'm not willing to accept third party testimony on accurate size of the things based on promo material and just by glancing the thing, without serious math on it.

As always, no ill will intended.
