I'm afraid you can only change your appearance using the toolset, which, as usual, hasn't been ported for the Mac...
Maybe there is a mod on Dragonagenexus that can do this, but I don't know about it.
You will be able to do that on DA2 in-game, apparently.

Actually, DAFaceReplacer <http://social.biowar.../project/1457/> seems to work on the Mac. Problem is you have to run it from the terminal.
Put the DAFaceReplacer120.py file in your home directory, then open Terminal and type
python DAFaceReplacer120.py
it should start up.
Click the button beloce "Characters & Saves", navigate to ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/characters and click choose, then quit.
Now type
python DAFaceReplacer120.py
again, and you should see a list of your saves. Choose one and the "Select as source", choose another and "Select as destination", then tweak.

I haven't tried it yet, but this looks good! I have looked for something like this ages ago because I had no screenshots/save games from my first character's Origin and wasn't able to re-create him from scratch (I gave up after the 19th try...) I'm so used to finding things on dragonagenexus that I never look on social.bioware... I'll try this out at once...

Have tried it and it works like a charm. Thanks, Jhime, for the info!
You don't even need to do any typing in terminal. If you put the .py file into your /Characters folder, and then double-click it, everything happens automatically, the correct folder is set, and the GUI opens where you just have to select your source and destination savegames.
