I´am pumped for DA2 and loved DA:O but that does not sign me in for any "No Negative Opinion" police.

ohh im sure they expect and want an honest opinion but at the same time some gratitude would be nice for some people to show them. they have worked so hard to make an amazing game for everyone and then when they go out of their way to make trailers to hold everyone off till the release date, people start complaining because obviously they didnt think it was enough.....Kroitz wrote...
I hope they expect our honest opinion. Regardless the output.

I bought DA twice and all the goods I could get a hold of in my place. I think I gave them the ultimate kind of gratitude as a customer and I posted my thanks and excitement for their awesome products many times. But when I see something I do not like, I think the statement is mine to make.

The mage in Dragon Age 2 looks awesome, so that makes me a happy bunny.

you are right that everyone is allowed to an opinion, i am simply saying that i think they should show more graditude and less complaints. well i have no idea what you said and i didnt see your complaint and you have yet to play dragon age 2 yet so i hope unlike some people here, you will wait to complain until you have actually played the game.Kroitz wrote...
I hope you understand that I´m just saying that everyone is allowed to state her/his opinion as much as you are allowed to dislike that opinion.

My impressions: lightning-fast sword swinging with "whoosh" noise and vapor-trail is fail. Say what you will about trying to improve the pace of and action of gameplay, but making a rpg scream "I AM A GAME" is not a good idea. Whatever gains they made by speeding up combat is going to be lost for me, because encounters no longer feel "solid". Without weight or heft to my weapons, without the feeling of making physical contact with the enemy when a blow lands, I believe everything will feel fake. DA:O was slower, yes, but your character reacted when he/she got hit, they actually had to wind-up to "do something awesome"TM, and I think that was a good thing.
Also:
Large, angular swords, enormous, blocky buildings covered with simple, huge tapestries of a single color.....
Personally, I can't stand the new aesthetic.
I know DA:O borrowed from Lotr, etc. and didn't have it's own unique 'look', but at least it was visually interesting. The bookshelves and workbenches and alchemy setups in the Tower, the paintings on the walls of various castles, the wrought wooden architecture in redcliffe, I could go on and on.
The new look is depressing, vacant and exhausting to look at. It's not 'dark', it's not 'edgy', it's '300' meets 'Heavy Metal'. And I don't like it.
The end.
I know, I know: "cool story bro"....

Most of the melee attacks in Origins looked like they had weight, but the mage attack animations were a total snooze. So far, this seems improved in DA2.
The auto attack animations for the daggers, though, look a little odd. They'll probably grow on me, especially when interspersed with all of the acrobatic animations available for Rogues.

Just as there is an option for helmets to be hidden, there needs to be a similar option for blood splatters. It's very annoying.

Thought I saw something about gore in the first game didn't I? Never really played with it to test its effect, but there is something in the options menu.
It would be nice if I didn't need my dog to lick me clean, that was always a little awkward to me
