In all seriousness... I... I can't answer this until I know whether or not Anders already has a planned tragic end. Then it should be easy. ... Maybe.

Hawke would save Anders. But I might have to use my metagamer saving throw for my dearest Alistair.

@joekerr42: Many people believe from the dialogues with Justice and Anders that it was planned. I think it would be interesting if they were always meant to be in DA2.

Alistair is busy being a king in my import games, so I would hope he has better things to do.

This question does suddenly have me worried for Nathaniel, though...  He's confirmed as a cameo, and he might feel Anders is his responsibility, since they became Grey Wardens around the same time.  I do NOT want to choose between Nathaniel and Anders.

In the end, it will depend on my characters.  My first Hawke will be an idealistic mage who wants to save Anders.  She will try to do so until it is clear that he is beyond help.  I hope it doesn't come to that point.

I agree. I'm hoping for a Connor-type quest where we can go into the Fade and kill Vengeance/persuade Justice to leave Anders.

And if I have to choose between Nathaniel and Anders, I will sit and stare at the screen for a bit, then play through with an evil psychotic Hawke who doesn't care about anyone, and wait for a mod to come out that doesn't make me choose before completing my nice-girl playthrough. 

And all my Alistairs are too busy, too drunk or too dead to get involved.

In the unlikely event Alistair is sent after Anders (don't see it happening for either King or drunk) - Anders's head will definitely roll. His head would roll anyway - I didn't care for him in Awakening, and he's an Abomination now.

I'm curious to see how often Anders will mention my warden. Mine was "best buds" with him, so I hope that gets recognized when he mentions the events leading up to his departure from the wardens.



Maybe she caught him as he was fleeing, begging him to remain so she could help. And Anders would say something along the lines of, "No! You've already helped me more often than I can count and have always remained a true and loyal friend. But I can't depend on you forever. This is one problem I need to fix without your aid."



Then after a teary-eyed "Please, take care of Ser-Pounce-A-Lot for me." and a "I hope our paths cross again, my friend." from my warden, he disappears into the shadows.

If I were metegaming, then Anders would die in a heartbeat before either Alistair or Nate. But being that Hawke is not the warden, I would have to wait and see what his story is before going that far.



Rak, Not romancing Isabela either. Will Merrill, but I still do not find Isabela intersting in the slightest.

I really hope they leave it open as to the Warden's part in what happened to Anders, because my Amell was best buds with him, and a mage. She would have had NO part in it.

The same goes for my Surana, really; she was rather fond of both Justice and Anders and would've had no part in it, either.

That would be a really really hard choice, but I think I would try to "forget" what I know about Alistair since Hawke doesn't know him. I would try to just look at what DA2 is telling me and run with that and forget what I learned in DAO. If Anders can't be saved and is going to be a monster then I'll kill him I think he would want that. But if he's going to be ok then Al will probably die if I can't make him see reason, all my Hawke is going to see is Al is trying to kill the man that she loves or is friends with.

Most of my ending he was king so I doubt they'll send him if he is. I think drunk Al will be my first import though.

I would be seriously surprised if this is why Nate appears in the game especially if the Anders portion of DA2 are those years when he drifted from the Wardens only to return later.

My rogue Hawke would kill Alistair. She'd see him as part of the Chantry-corrupt group that betrayed Anders in the first place (assuming, of course, Anders shares this with her), despite that the Grey Wardens are heroes and Alistair would have been one of their greats. If she could talk him down, she'd probably try, but I doubt Alistair would step aside for someone who killed more of his beloved Grey Wardens. Heck, she might even attack him first.

My mage Hawke, on the other hand, would try everything to prevent either party being slaughtered, but would probably defend Anders in the end. Alistair is a name of a legend who she does not know. Anders is her friend/lover/confidant.

So, overall, Alistair loses.

I don't think so.  Wynne was dependent on that spirit to keep her alive.  Anders's body is healthy and is basically two independent people sharing one body.

Yeah, everyone was so worried about the "But Anders died in my game!" epilogues that we didn't really think about the "Anders was totally an awesome Warden and stayed!" endings. I've not played a Warden yet that would even think about letting a templar join, let alone use them to keep tabs on Anders. I hate to think that, no matter how we treated him in Awakening, Anders could blame our Wardens for what happened.
