I'm thinking there'll be some pretty serious guilt on Anders' side - possibly why he doesn't just go into the fade and try to get rid of Vengeance straight off. He probably wants to save him - bring him back to being a spirit and not a demon.

And it seems Anders "agreed" to let Justice inhabit him - it was a deal, not a Wynne save thing.

Ugh, you guys really aren't making it easy to figure out which characters I want in my party. Just when I settle on Aveline, Varric, and Merrill you drop a bomb like this. Now I have no idea.

And poor Justice. He was so awesome!

Calling it right now. At the end of the game Anders is gonna have to chose life, and constantly going for revenge against the circle which ultimately went against everything he stood for or realizing the demon inside him has corrupted him beyond what he ever anticipated decides to banish it back to the fade ultimately causing his death but also his redemption.

Because it's not Justice anymore, it's Vengeance. Demons tend to not be so altruistic with their hosts.

EDIT: Unless you mean how he gets possessed in the first place. IMO I think the two just made a deal, simple as that.

I mean, in terms of people complaining that Anders should be dead. If he dies, Justice leaves Kristoff's body and inhabits Anders to save him. Thus, Anders really did die.

Maybe including Anders also includes Justice/Vengeance? Two characters in one beautiful chiselled jaw package?

I have no idea why people are just not assuming that Justice doesn't save Anders the way the Spirit of Faith saved Wynne.

This seems so obvious. Why don't more people think of it?

Team is done.

Me, mage.
Anders, mage.
Isabella, rogue.
Aveline, warrior.

The only question is who takes which woman.

Hell will break lose!

I want to bring Anders with me on every playthrough...but I don't want two mages on my team :crying:

He's so going to be in my Rogue's party though :D

I hope so, I will cringe if Justice's voice suddenly takes over Anders'. I hope it's not in the style of Connor's demonic posession....that would somehow be cringeworthy

It is for great justice. All those tears never seen when mages were slaughtered shall flood like a river overflown.

Is it the same Justice as in Awakening? Or is it a different spirit of Justice?

isnt the difference between a demon and a spirit possession is for the demon its total control and for a spirit its akin to a symbiosis?

I have a feeling it's the same Justice, since Justice and Anders have a past with each other and it would not be that strange to have a spirit you have already met and traveled with.

Thought about the same, but it is no probs. Anders already is mage brother-in-arms for me, since can't be real brother.

WAIT....NEIN! Don't say Anders is brother for female hawke?

The extended descriptions for the achievements are here

Exorcist 25

Found and killed the undying Xebenkeck.

I suspect something as massive as "help Anders free himself of possession" would rate a secret achievement.

Good don't die. They don't obey. They change the world.

There's only five secret achievements. There are seven companions (although, it's possible your sibling doesn't have a personal quest). I'd say they are endgame spoilers, not individual companion cheevs.

I'm thinking with this new bomb of Anders being in the game and with the revelation that he is controlling a demon with in, might be good future news for our mages. If Anders can show that he can some how contain the demon, maybe the chantry won't be as displeased with mages as they have been. Or, maybe they will see this as mages wanting to consort further more with evil spirits...hmmmm...the possibilities. God I can't wait for tuesday march 8th, my preorder will be here, muahahaha...

It is better to draw the sword and fight for justice than to live as a slave.

His character page says 'his friend Justice'.

I really hope he doesn't have a tragic end. Come on, BW, you already did this to me once with Alistair, give me a happy ending already!

It's good that he's one of your earliest companions at least. We'll have a bit of time with him before DG starts feeding on our tears.

This does make me a little disheartened, only because Anders was the one companion I have been wanting this whole time and I am concerned about how it’s going to end. On the other hand, it is an interesting turn of events and I am extremely curious as to how it’s going to work and how the story will shape around it and I am keeping an open mind about it. So nicely done, Bioware!

Meet Anders. Some of you may remember Anders from Dragon Age: Origins Awakening, but this mage has changed. Now bonded with the Spirit of Justice, his anger at the Circle of Magi has corrupted Justice into the Spirit of Vengeance. Everyday is now a struggle to contain the spirit within, and everyday it becomes harder to control.

This is not the Anders you remember.

You can learn more about Anders and view screenshots HERE

Oh crap he merged with Justice from Awakenings?  Or another one?

Either way ... daaaaayumn!

I hope we still see snippets of the old Anders sometimes... I mean, I liked Justice just fine, but I much preferred Anders' personality. It will make me really sad if Anders never cracks any jokes anymore and also very angry with Justice for making him that way. Besides that, I think the even bigger question here is what will happen to sir pounce-a-lot? It wasn't explicitly stated, but I can't help but think that a used to be spirit of justice, now turned spirit of vengeance would not have any use for a small furry animal.
