@Taleroth, yes she was surprisingly calming in that footage - but there's that little bit of snark that LadyHawke threw at her when you first meet Isabela too - there's obviously some tension about the Chantry still there. And it's also possible that of the two of them, Aveline will be reasonable, but Anders won't.

I wonder if in that first meeting the reason why Justice gets "switched on" is because Aveline has some Templar skills? It does look like he's the first party member you meet apart from Varric when you reach Kirkwall, so perhaps you don't have a choice as to who your party members are, but it might be interesting to see if he has the same reaction if you have, say, Merrill in your party rather than Aveline.

Changing topics drastically...

Anyone else planning on giving their Lady Hawke some tattoos because of this?

ANDERS: Have I ever told you that I find tattoos on women incredibly attractive?
VELANNA: Have I ever told you that I find most humans physically and morally repulsive?
ANDERS: Good to know!
Not that I expect the game to actually address that, but still! Image IPB

Ohhh.... I considered it!

If you read the blurb for the picture, he's in his quarters at the Vigil here ;).

I don't know about that. She may have been married to a Templar, but did not seem to have their zealotry.

Granted this is mostly my own thoughts, but Aveline is all about protecting those important to her. She becomes a member of the city guard, so it wouldn't be too big of a leap in logic that she'd put the safety of the people first. I'm sure she and Anders won't get along on that, as Vengeance probably doesn't care about the consequences and just wants to kill the Templars, who are in control of Kirkwall.

So yeah.. I'm sure there'd be a lot of arguments between those two. I could even see one of them coming to Hawke and asking him/her to pick a side. Though as I siad, it's mostly just what I'm imaging from not a whole lot of character we've seen.

I hope they can get along. Maybe she respects that he's doing good healing refugees? I already had big plans for my warrior and Aveline to be close, and other assorted roleplaying ideas that hinge entirely on Aveline and Anders be not mutually exclusive on any given playthrough. Like Miri, I am looking forward to meeting her as much as I'm looking forward to him and I'd be seriously, seriously torn if I had to choose.

Seriously.

I actually wonder if he's going to have quarrels with Fenris more than anyone. Does anyone know what Fenris's attitude towards Mages is going to be really?

Not yet, mostly it's just been speculation that he'll dislike all mages on principle, but it could be just as likely that he'll be against oppression and slavery. Or that he'll not care about any of those things as long as they're kept the **** away from him.

Yeah, I can't really see him being a fan of Templars either.  Anyway, I think Aveline may distrust Anders at first but over the course of time see that he doesn't really mean any harm (if he hasn't caused any by that point, that is).

And that's something Anders is spectacularly bad at (the old Anders, at least).  He enjoyed nothing more than harrassing people who disliked him with his presence.  No wonder Anders likes cats... he behaves just like one.

Yeah, all we have to do is hope the demon-possesed apostate does nothing to rock the boat. What could possibly go wrong, right? :?

Seriously, though, I am hoping that we won't have constant bloody bickering amongst party members. There were so many times when I wanted to turn around in DA:O and just slap one of them, or tell them that if they couldn't behave themselves I'd go back and leave them in Sten's cage in Lothering.

I imagine Isabela and Varric will be the most easy-going, so a party with them and Anders might be the easiest way to cut back on the sniping. A party with Aveline, Fenris and Anders could cause some tension. And I fear taking Anders and Merrill together anywhere, for fear that he'll find her as enchanting as Velanna.

I loved the running joke about Velanna's ears. Considering the elf rework it's even more appropriate now.

LOL!  My Hawke would be doubly pissed at Anders for both flirting with another woman AND for moving in on her little brother's woman.  MERRILL IS FOR CARVER, ANDERS.  (In my head canon, anyway... lol)

When Anders would start in on Velanna during my most first playthrough I wanted to turn around and be like "You know who also has tattoos and is AWESOME? Sigrun. Hit on her...you might actually get somewhere."

Merrill won't be in my party at all the first time through, since Bethany and Anders will be all the mage power I need. And, seriously, if anyone is asking to be made jealous as hell, it's my Warrior Hawkle who will have her pretty, pretty sister with her almost everywhere she goes.

Real World: Kirkwall

This is the true story of nine strangers picked to travel together and have their lives taped.  Find out what happens when people stop being polite... and start getting REAL.

Anders would be in the private interview booth ALL the time.  We all know he'd be a huge camera hog.  ;)

Really? I loved the bickering. I think it'd be boring if everyone got along.

Honestly, I think Anders/Aveline confrontations will pale in comparison to Anders/Sebastian ones, if Sebastian truly is a 'full companion' as they say.

Hello~ Haven't been in here in a while.....last time I was here people kept bugging Anders about "cannibalism" so I decided to stay away~:?

:)On topic:

I hope Fenris and Anders get along somehow, but I kinda don't see it happenning. Even more so with Aveline, even though I didn't care for her much before, she caught my curiousity in the last demo video I saw. She just seems like a really strong woman, and I don't mean just physically. But her involvement with Templars might tick Anders off~

I liked it from a player perspective, since it was hilarious listening to Morrigan and Leliana fight over my lads and having Zevran get on everyone's nerves, but I would have loved to have my character be able to interject now and then. Which, iirc, they've added a little of in DA2, something I can't wait to try out.

I'm interested in Sebastian, but I missed out on the SE deadline, so I've never really taken him into account in my party make-up. You guys are going to have to let us know in the thread how he and Anders get along!

I plan to take him everywhere I can, so if there are any juicy confrontations, I'll definitely have to remember to post them here. I mean, a man sworn to priesthood and a Chantry-hating, demon-possessed apostate? What's the worst that could happen?

I feel like they might get along regardless, given that the vibe I've been getting from Sebastian is "RAWR VENGENCE WILL BE MINE"
